My adult sons are headed to POP on Friday. Their flight arrives about 10:30 PM. They have received their luggage tags for ME, etc. But, if they don't collect their own luggage, what time could they expect it to be delivered to the room? And, if they decide to forgo the service and get it them selves, will the bus wait for them, and will they allow them to bring their checked luggage onto the bus? Thank you!

The busses run continually so no worrries on "missing" a bus..I think you have to get your own bags after 10 pm anyway, or maybe it is 11...at that hour I woudl prefer to shlep ver and get my bagsm then back to DME having them with me. That way they have them , no 3 am drop off or waiting for them if it takes until 6 or 8 a.m. ( which I doubt, but you never know)You can ALWAYS take your bags to the bus yourself, they just stow it underneath. We have done this for late flights before and prefer to have our bags with us. It would be nice if the tipped the bus driver a few bucks too :goodvibes

After 10pm DME WILL NOT pick up your luggage behind the scenes. If you want it that night, you have to pick it up yourself.

If you don't want it that night, you can let it go, but it will pop out on the carousel and will ride there till nobody claims it, then will go to the unclaimed baggage office overnight, then DME folks will cull it from the unclaimed baggage office the next morning and it will be delivered.

Thanks for these important tips! I wonder why it doesn't tell them this in the packet they received with the Magical Express tags?:confused3 As far as the buses go, they are not assigned to a specific bus? They just get on the one that is there waiting after they have retrieved their luggage? Are there different buses for different resorts, or do you just get on the one that is there? Sorry for all the questions, but we have never used ME before.

I thought the 10pm baggage pickup situation was mentioned in the booklet. At least I thought I saw it in there somewhere.
In any case, to answer your other questions...
No, there are not specific buses per se. There are buses that run to specific resorts only...your ds's bus would most likely go to POP, AKL and CSR. When they arrive at MCO, they can collect their bags at baggage claim. Then, they will just head down to level 1, ground transportation, Side B, and go to the DME welcome area. They will be directed to the correct bus line for their resort. Then, when the bus comes along, they will be told which bus it is.
So, as you can see...there isn't a bus that they are assigned to, at a particular time. When you get to the welcome area and get checked in, you are sent to the bus lines.

After collecting their luggage, they will go to the DME welcome center and directed to the appropriate queue for their resort. Once in the line they will be directed to the correct bus to board. Generally buses will go to 3-4 resorts and there are fairly consistent patterns, but no specific route or order is set in stone. Later at night you may be somewhat more likely to have a non-standard route OR to be on a bus that just goes to your resort. The last time we arrive late, for example, there were very few other guests and we wound up on our own private motor coach to the Poly.
