Using Magic Band at other Resorts

If we are currently staying at one Disney resort, and want to eat lunch and shop at another Disney resort, will our Magic Band work?

Yes. You can charge back to your room with your MB anywhere they are accepted.

I guess the simplest way to put it is that your Magic Band is tied to you, not your resort or your reservation. Actually, it's tied to your My Disney Experience (MDE) account, which is where all of the information about you is stored.

So yes, it'll work anywhere there's a Magic Band reader on WDW property.
