Using laptop at BW

We'll be bringing our laptop with us to our upcoming trip to BW, primarily to be able to download our digital pictures each night. Just wondering how we'd go about connecting to use internet so we can email some pictures right away. Does anyone know what the local access phone # is - and if there's a per call charge or per minute. We are DVC members. Thanks for any help.

You would have to check your ISP to see what numbers they have available in Orlando. Check with the hotel operator to make sure they are local calls. The charge is 35 cents per call for members (unlimited time).

We do the same on our trips. I've got a free account with netzero.net that I use to check email and send pics. They have several local access numbers.

Every phone has a data port, so you just plug your modem cable into the phone. I think (from memory here) that you need to dial 8-0 plus the entire 10-digit number to connect to the local dialup numbers.

I know that others have indicated that you need to make sure that the number is a Lake Buena Vista number as WDW is not in Orlando itself. Orlando number might result in some higher charges. Best yet, see if your ISP has a toll free number to hook up to.

I know on AOL all the Orlando #'s are local, I don't think the have any LBV numbers. Kissimmee is toll.

you can check with the front desk after making a call to be sure it was not a toll call.

I used an 800 number and had no phone / access charges.

When we were at BWV in February of this year we just hooked into the phone in the master bedroom and selected a number within the Orlando area and we did not have any fees charged for local calls.
