Using KTTW cards

OK- I read that each person in the party gets a KTTW card- I just wondered how much control/flexibility you have in using them? For instance, my wife and I and my friend will be going. Can we each charge items to our own cards, even at dinners we have together?? Or will the servers just use one card for the entire party?

Also, when it comes time to pay off your card, am I right that you can pay by cash or check, but only credit card if the total is over $500? I think I read that somewhere.

With these cards, are the only things cash/traveller's checks are needed for are some tips and shopping/food on land??

You can assign different charge cards to different KTTW cards. So you and your DW can have all your charges go to one of your charge cards, and your friend can their charges go to their own charge card. Yes, you'd need to use both KTTW charges when you order drinks, etc, in order to keep this straight, but it can be done.

Disney automatically charges your credit card when the bill reaches about $400-$500. If you want to only pay in cash, just keep checking with Guest Service and paying off as you go. Or, you can put down cash at the start of your cruise to charge against.

As the previous poster said, DCL charges your credit card on file when you reach 445-450. They will reverse the charges when you give them the cash. They like even reverses, just keep that in mind. IE if you have charged 463.50 and give them $500, even if you have charged more...you will show a -36.50. Took forever for my DH and I to figure this out. It all works out in the end. No problems with Guest Services doing this. We checked and got a print out of our folio every night.
