Since no one answered my last post, I'll try again!

Can you use the pools at the deluxe resorts (Poly, Contemp, GF) in the first week of Feb? ARe they heated?

Thanks!

All pools at the WDW resorts and the waterparks are heated in the winter and open all year round.

That said, Feb. can be tricky as far as temps go. Sometimes it can be in the 70's during the day which is wonderful but sometimes it can also be more like high 40's or 50's....so you may not be as eager to swim in that case. But they pools will be open and are heated.

We stayed in ASMo in Feb 2001, and swam every day in the warm pools. It was a perfect time to go--one morning it was a little chilly and rainy...but we came from Iowa and we all wore shorts every day.

The last week of January and first week of February are historically the coldest on average in Orlando. We've been there in winter coats during the middle of the day. We've also see it in the mid-70's, seldom much warmer than that though.

Even in the coldest temperatires the pools will be open and heated, but you might not want to swim...

We stayed at AKL this year right at the end of Jan/first few days of Feb. The day we arrived and one other day of our trip were warm enough and sunny enough to use the pool and it was great! The pool was nice and warm. It was a little chilly when we got out but we just made sure we had enough towels to cover ourselves fully. The other days of our trip we thought it was too chilly to swim, but there were always a few hardy souls in the pool.

My kids have always swam (almost every day!) on our three trips in Jan and Feb. It has to be pretty warm for me to swim but I have on 2 out of those 3 trips! The pools are heated and the pool bars are open sooooo... plenty of days when it was a bit chilly for DH and I to swim, we propped our feet up with a cold drink and watched the kids go at it! :teeth:

Also a tip for Feb travel and swimming is... work with the weather. Last year when we got to WDW it was clear by the forecast that the warmest day of the week would be our first day after arrival, we had not planned to go to BB until later in the week but changed our plans and went. It was close to 80 degrees and really pleasant. Had we waited until later the temps had dropped in to the low 60's and upper 50's :cold: .
