Using Fastpasses with a tall 2 year old w/o a ticket

My two year old, who obviously doesn't need his own ticket yet, is tall enough to ride on some of the rides that have Fastpass. I'm assuming he will be able to ride the ride when we use our FPs, despite not having one for himself, but I just wanted to double check. Does anyone know for sure?

My daughter is a tall as well, and I've never had an issue or anyone question us. She has always come right along with us through the fast pass line, they encounter it often because there are many rides that don't have height restrictions and kids that are under 3 without fast passes all the time. But even with the height restriction rides like barnstormer she went right along.

Shouldn't be a problem. There are some FP rides (BLAB, HM) without a height restriction, so it's pretty common for kids under 3 to go with their party. Of course you can't get a FP without an entry ticket. For the most part I'd think Disney operates on the honor system. I suppose you could even buy a ticket for you kid. Just kidding.

We had no problem taking our kid to World of Color when under 3. Not sure how it would work for Frozen or other shows. They might want a child to sit on a lap, although I think once you get in the building they have no way of knowing.

I don't know how you prove a kid is under 3 without some sort of ID. We didn't go around with our kid's birth certificate copy, but I actually carried our kid's passport card and later got a DMV-issued ID. The latter isn't available in every state.

I would love to know how it goes with the faster/more thrilling rides if you take your son on any of those. My 2-year-old boy is 40 inches and we're going again in November (he'll be almost 3 by then though). I've been trying to figure out of there are any rides he'll enjoy from the faster ones, but I'm just so hesitant. Of course, he gets motion sickness, so maybe I'm just too cautious.

My two older boys went on most of the rides as two year olds and enjoyed them... although I think my second wasn't a fan of SM. My current 2 year old, who will be almost 3 when we go in November, is already an adrenaline junkie, so I think he will love them. If he doesn't, of course, he can just hang out with me and baby brother, but I will be rather surprised.

My second was my more timid kiddo, and at 2.5, his favorite ride was Splash. He used to wave to the vultures just before the climb and say,"Us no scared!"

I looked up the height requirements for all FP rides, and the lowest (save those rides without height restrictions) was 40 inches.

Strangely enough even with one FP I've managed to get my 5YO on a ride. I just asked nicely if the CM would let our kid and we got a manual pass written up in exchange for the single. We even pushed it a little further and it was our entire family of three.

I was afraid of that. I haven't been back since my divorce about 4 years ago. I have a trip planned for Spring Break, but with all the changes and Fast Pass Plus I may skip Disney and just do Universal Orlando. If I do Disney it will probably just be MK and maybe DHS for a day. I still have the tickets with every option that never expire (until all the days are used).

We took our oldest on the 40" rides at 2 with just one FP. She was only a few weeks from turning three, but still no one questioned it. I think a lot of tall kids hit 40" before their third birthday, especially boys. Though plenty of other kids won't hit 40" until around 4.

Anyway, DL was great - simply "she's 1, not 5 - that's why she's curled up in the stroller" we had no issues with tickets, entry, fastpasses, rider switch. They were great. At 9-1/2, and as tall as most 16-year olds, I'm anxious about our Oct trip, but I know I shouldn't be.

You mentioned your child was 2, so you probably aren't worried about flying with a lap child. For both our exceptionally tall kids, we ALWAYS, ALWAYS had a birth certificate copy with us for flying. We were asked more than once to show proof of age flying, since we did lap kid. This was back in the day where we almost always were guaranteed an empty seat where we could put our lap child instead of holding the tall little rugrats. Not anymore.

I don't get the thing about used birth certificates as de facto ID. There is government-issued photo ID available for any child. I do understand that birth certificates are still considered acceptable travel documents for a US-born child under 16 traveling to Canada.

I'm glad to hear that you never had any issues! My older boys are 13 and 10, so it has been awhile since I have had little ones at DL and couldn't remember how anything worked. But I would hate to feel like someone thought I was trying to sneak an older kid in without a ticket just because he is big. My youngest will be just shy of a year when we go and has a total chunky baby face, so no confusion there. And we are driving, so no dealing with flights, but that is good to know in case we do fly somewhere before the youngest turns two. Thanks!

My granddaughter is a tall kid. She made 40" rides at 2.5yo. No problem with anything. She just went thru FP with us. While she looked 5, as soon as you talked with her you knew she was 2. She was so proud when she finally got her own ticket finally at 3 years and 4 days. Now she is 5 and in kindergarten and as tall as many third graders.
