Using extra child's TS credit for toddler not on DDP

My kids will be 5.5 (DS) and 2.5 (DD) when we travel this September (on likely free dining). As my daughter is under 3 she is free. I understand that additional credits are not allocated to kids under 3 (since they were free), but what I'm wondering is whether I can use some of DS's TS credits to get a meal for DD at a few meals. We may even consider upgrading to DxDP for the extra credits that could hopefully be used on DD to allow her a few children's entrees without paying out of pocket.

Thoughts?

No, you can't. Your band will scan as 1 child so you will only be able to order 1 child meal at a TS restaurant.

Thank you for the quick reply.

Sounds like a no-go for the TS sharing.

Can more than 1 counter service credit be redeemed at once? I'm assuming at the least DH could stand in 1 line and get 1 adult, 1 child (if child's menu available) and I stand in another line at the same counter service and order 1 adult, 1 child. Are counter service credits differentiated between adult and child like the table service credits?

Is this always the case? If so, we must have got lucky when we went....a few times.
We used the KTTW cards, and at two QS places, ordered two adult and two child meals (we were traveling with a 5 and 2 yo). We just burned through our child's QS credits faster.
I expected to pay OOP for our youngest, but they just used the dining credits...:thumbsup2

Oops, sorry, I see you were referring to TS credits....my mistake

Using more credits than allowed at one time is a "no-go", but you can share (i.e., order one meal and feed two people) at many of the TS locations. There are some restrictions (e.g., buffets, ACTE/family style, fixed priced, dinner shows, dining packages, and Via Napoli), but for the most part you can "share" meals at TS locations. You just cannot order more meals that is allowed based on the guests in your room.

I would add her as a 3 year old and get a one day park ticket for the free dining..you do not have to have a park ticket for each day and I think that would work. Most people do not have park tickets for every day and the dining is based on nights ...just a thought

FD requires a 2 day minimum ticket, and it will likely be cheaper to just pay for extra meals/sides when necessary.

If you book at family style meals (ex. character meals + plenty of other options as well) then the 2.5yr old eats free anyway. The cost to upgrade 2 adults and 1 child will more than likely be way more expensive then occasionally ordering a QS item or TS meal a la carte for dd.

Thank you for all the replies and insight.

I think we have decided that it would make the most sense to stick with the free included DDP (staying mod) but to upgrade DS to "adult" status. It is only an extra $20 even on a 10 park hopper pass to go from child to adult so then he and DD can split adult portion meals. We plan to do a few buffets/aycte-style meals so she'll be free there and for many quick service meals I'm sure we can even get by with just 2 adult meals to split between the 4 of us to stretch our credits for a couple extra meals.

Thanks again!
