Using electrical appliances in France?

Is the electricity system in France the same as UK/Ireland? I know that they use the two-prong plugs, and have a few adaptors, but is the voltage/frequency the same? For example, will the chargers for my camcorder/camera work with no problems, or do I have to get a converter of some kind?

Thanks a million,
Andrew.

Hi Andrew,

Electric supply in France is 220v AC so most UK appliances should run OK but check your manual first if you are unsure.

I charged my camcorder and laptop in the hotel last trip no problems.
