This has been discussed elsewhere, but I am still confused: if booking a summer 2010 DCL cruise with DVC points will we be able to book a specific stateroom at the time of booking?

We are looking to book a Catagory 4 room on the Magic--in the experts opinions are there some staterooms that are more desirable than others? Location on the deck--certain cabin numbers? If so, what makes these more "desirable"? Help!

The best answer at this point is maybe, maybe not. Once a stateroom category is sold out it goes into GTY status. They then book a certain number of GTY reservations in that category, knowing that some people will cancel. With a GTY booking you are guaranteed a stateroom in at least the category you book. (There has also been a lot of talk about DCL only taking GTY bookings, but I, personally, do not think this will happen.)

There are fewer Category 4s than any other cabin category except Cat. 12 (not including Cat. 1-3 suites) and they are popular so they will probably go quickly. If you want a specific cabin I'd be on the phone right at 8am.

Good luck!
