Using DVA to pay room account

I've searched and can't find a thread that addresses this, but it's entirely possible I'm just missing the threads.

I'd like to use my magic band to charge everything to the room and then pay off my room account with my DVA. Is it possible for me to go to the front desk and just give them my DVA account number, or do I have to request a Disney gift card from DVA and then apply that to my room charges?

If I request a gift card from DVA, does the amount I have DVA put on a Disney gift card count towards the $20 per $1000 spent bonuses?

You can't pay for your room charges with the DVA. You will have to request a gift card before your trip. The gift card doesn't count towards the $20 dollars for every $1000 spent.

Qualified vacation purchases include vacation packages for the Walt Disney World Resort or the Disneyland Resort, theme park tickets, room stays, cruise fare, and vacations by Adventures By Disney. Purchases of Disney Gift Cards are not qualified vacation purchases for purposes of this Bonus Program.
