Using DTD transportation???

We are staying at the DoubleTree in DTD. I have read that the hotel's transportation leaves a lot to be desired. I am wondering if we can drive and park at marketplace and catch the Downtown Disney buses to the parks and to visit some of the resorts? Or is this just a benefit for Disney resort guests?

Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated!

The buses from DTD do not go to the parks, they only go to the resorts.

DTD buses are decent. They run every 20-30 minutes. If you end your day at a resort (dinner) just take a Disney bus to DTD. Take the hotel bus from DTD to your hotel or just walk.

We stayed at Doubletree DTD two years ago, and found the busses to be more than adequate. They always ran on time.

You have to walk a bit farther to get to them from the parks, but unless someone in your party has mobility issues it isn't a problem.

Thanks Lewisc for the information on taking the DTD buses to the resorts. That is a great idea for visiting other resorts and having dinner there.

Holly, Thanks for telling me about your experience the DTD hotel buses. I will try them at least once during our stay and make a deterimation if this is really a viable option.
