Dh & I have a trip to Southern California next week! Of course, we will be going to Disneyland! However, we really need to watch our spending this trip. We have plenty of days left on Disneyworld tickets from our previous trips to Orlando, and are trying to save on ticket costs. I read on Mousesavers that it is possible to use Disneyworld tickets at Disneyland (but not Disneyland tickets at Disneyworld.) However, the most recent information Mousesavers had on this was from about 6 months ago.

Has anyone recently tried to use Disneyworld tickets at Disneyland? Did they let you do this, and if so, how much of a hassle was it? Mousesavers says you can only trade in for one day's tickets at a time, so I guess it would require going to Guest Relations every day.

Hi Judy

We just got back Monday from DL

It is really quite simple to use your leftover tickets at DL

You simply go to the Gate - not Guest relations or window. The person there will press a button and have a lead come to gate. She will come take your WDW passes, check computer and will take a day off. If it is a hopper she will give you a one day hopper. only takes about 10 minutes

You will hav eto do this for every day you go but worth it!

Wow, what a fast response! :thanks: :disrocks: This should save us a ton on our upcoming trip!

My cousins from San Diego may be able to join us for one day, but a one-day park hopper for each of them would be very expensive. I hope people won't consider this unethical, but I'd like to let my cousins use one day from our tickets. (I wouldn't be selling them tickets -- just giving them a day each.)

I have enough Disneyworld tickets for us each to have our own, but I'm wondering if the Disneyland ticket booths are biometric. I'm concerned that if my cousins use some of our Disneyworld tickets and the tickets get run through biometric scanners at Disneyland, their biometric data will be put on our tickets, and Dh and I won't ever be able to use those tickets again when we get back to Disneyworld. I do have some of the very old paper-type (non-magnetic) Disneyworld tickets with just one day each left on them, but that type of ticket won't be in the computer at Disneyland, so I'm not sure we'd be able to use those. Any thoughts on whether I can let my cousins use our tickets?

They don't have biometric finger scans at DL

It will be fine for your cousin to use a day off your ticket at least that is what the lady at the gate told me about my daughter using her cousins which I bought

I also used very old tickets that had 3 days left on them at DL and they took a day off and gave me a ticket

Great! I can use Disneyworld tix at Disneyland, there's no biometrics at Disneyland, and I can maybe use the very old style paper tickets, too. That's just what I was hoping for! Thanks!

Like I said, :disrocks:

So when you arrive in the morning, you go to enter as if you had a disneyland ticket, and then tell them its WDW and they call someone over? (Did I understand that right?)

Is there a way you can convert them the day before so there is no delay at the gate (for those of us wanting to get in fast to queue for Nemo)? If it makes a difference, I think the tickets I have are one day, and I dont know if they are park hoppers or not (but didnt really intend to do CA anyway so I dont mind if they wont make them park hoppers).

Hi yes you go right to the gate and give them your ticvkets They will press a button and a lead will come take your tickets and tell you they will be right back They will come back with your Disneyland tickets and will take a day off your others

No you can't do night before wish I could of but really it does not take long at all!

I did it two days in a row and it was a minimal wait

Wow, I had no idea that we could use our WDW tickets at DL!! :yay: We have WDW hopper tickets with several days left on them and I was thinking we were going to have to spend $80/ea when we're there next month to buy one-day park hoppers for DL/CA.

WOW! The folks here on the Disneyland board are way more "lax" than the folks on the WDW boards.

I can not believe that people are being encouraged to let others use unused days on passes. This is a huge no no. You may be able to get away with it, because of lack of biometrics, but it is still against the rules. Tickets are non-transferrable period.

The lady at the gate ay Disneyland said my daughter could use the leftover days on her cousins or hers (I brought both) from our trip to WDW as I paid for them anyways so I am just repeating what I was told was okay to do!

Does anyone know if there is a discount or anything like that for WDW annual passholders at DL?

Well, Disney is well known to publish 'regulations' and then ignore them or not enforce them...at the parks, at the resorts and on the ships. Yes, the tickets have always said 'non-transferable' (at least as far as I know), but they really don't care who's using them as long as it's a paid admission. AP's and the biometric tickets are a whole other story and I figure DLR will put in biometric scanners at some point.

When I had my DLR annual pass I was ADVISED by a guest relations manager to purchase a multi-day hopper to keep and use for my various guests when I made trips over from Phoenix during the year. :confused3
