Using Disney VISA points with AAA packages? Dining with AAA package question also.

Has anyone had any problem paying for Disney package booked through AAA with your Disney VISA points? The online agent I talked to was unfamiliar with the points. Also, it looks like your better off getting the whole package through AAA if you want dining - if you book through Disney, you can get a AAA room only rate, but if you add MYW+dining, you lose your AAA discount - correct? :

Yes you can use your Rewards card from your Disney Visa to pay towards your package with AAA. I just transferred my reward dollars to my reward card and gave it to my agent-no problem-just like a credit card. And yes-if you want AAA discount with dining package you need to book through AAA. I think that was your question.

I know alot of people do this but if something should happen & you need to cancel your trip, you can not get your rewards back.

1. Can you use your rewards for S/D too?
2. If you PAY for your WDW vaca with your Disney Visa will you get points? Any other 'extras' you get for paying with Disney Visa? I am planning on paying with Disney Visa and using the points I get for a nice dinner (or two?)

I just got the card, and it said that if you paid your deposit and balence with the card you can get free 6 months financing.

So you lose your reward points if you have to cancel your reservation? Please elaborate on this because I was thinking about using our points to pay off part of our AAA package balance.

I don't have first-hand experience on this, but I do remember reading the same thing before our trip last fall. I decided to just save the rewards and use them on our MNSSHP tickets that I bought when we arrived at WDW. I didn't want to chance losing them or have to jump through a lot of hoops to get them back.

no. not that I am aware of... unless it is at the Disney-owned gift shops. Nothing else there is run by Disney.

Yes, I am hesitant about using the rewards points if they might be lost if we have to cancel for some reason (we aren't going until June). But I am worried about not being able to spend all the points since with the package we purchased, the hotel, tickets and food are all covered. I guess I could probably find -something- to spend the money on . I already have my eyes on an Off Kilter CD.

I also heard from a WDW phone reserv. i cna get just the AAA discount, but if i call later there will be codes? to give me a discount on the whole package- room,tixs and dining plan! I am not sure if this is true- we are not going til Oct. so she said those codes aren't out for that far away yet! have you ever heard of this?

Are you asking if you lose your AAA discount if you book a package thru CRO? If so, then yes you do. You have to book your package thru a AAA travel agent to keep you discount on the room.

The only way to not lose your points on your reservation would be to extend your dates for the future & have the deposit transferred. If you cancel the trip you will definitely lose your rewards.

This is true but only on a package (room + tickets). Not a room-only reservation.

Thats why we decided to do a room only through CRO with the AAA discount - we'll buy our tickets when we get there with our points. Just in case we have to cancel, it looks like it easier and safer with a room only.

Do yourself a favor & go to mousesavers.com Mary has a monthly newsletter with a link to ticketmania for further discounts on park tickets. The difference is prices last year when we purchased our tickets in advance from them was substantial. If you want to take a look at prices now I can email you the January newsletter to compare prices.
