Using Disney Gifts Cards at Ticket Booths

Hey All,

I've been slowly buying $50 Disney Gift Cards throughout the year to pay for our 3-Day Park Hoppers at Disneyland. I'm hoping I can use these to pay for the tickets at the ticket booths when we arrive, and I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with that, hopefully it's possible.

It is absolutely possible! I know this from personal experience

Last year I used all Disney Gift cards ($25 and $50) at the ticket booth to pay for my annual pass for the year. The castmember was fine about taking them.

You may need to combine them online before going there. I seem to remember a max of 2 cards per transaction. That was a quite a while ago, though.

You will be fine to use them. I have purchased 6 5-day passes with a very large stack of gift cards before, the cast member was just fine with them. You can only use a couple over the phone, but in person you can use as many as you want.

Probably easier for everyone to go to disneygiftcard.com ahead of time and combine them into 1 card.

I also used Disney Gift Cards to purchase my annual pass late last year. As others have mentioned, I did go to Disney Gift Cards first to combine them into as few cards as possible. When combining cards, the maximum amount that you can have on a single card is $1,000. I mostly combined them to speed up the payment process, but you can use multiple cards if necessary when purchasing in person.

this is a good question! i've been debating whether or not to upgrade our PHs to APs in september. good to know i can use disney gift cards!
and i will definitely use disneycards to combine them. i have a total of $1,000 right now (in over a dozen gift cards).

I used 4 GCs to buy a 2 day hopper. They had to do it like 4 transactions and print 4 receipts, 3 showing a zero balance on the card. Definitely combine them online to expedite.

If you combine your gift cards then you could also purchase your park hoppers in advance online. This way you would also get one magic morning, which is not available when buy them at the ticket booths.

I am wondering how safe it is to put the gift cards all into one card online? Is this really a safe thing...can people get the gift card information online and use them? I'm so nervous.

I've never had a problem. Way easier!

It can actually work in your favor. Less chance of losing a card and not noticing until too late. If your gift card gets lost or stolen, you can call the number to have the card stopped and the balance transferred to a new one.

Something I learned and now do when combining Gift Cards. At the gift card website I register 3 cards in the system. I keep one card (labeled as Main) and transfer everything to this card. I give my wife a second empty card, that way if my card gets lost or stolen I can immediately log in and transfer the balance to her card. A third card is kept at home that way if something happens to both our cards, I can transfer to the backup card at home.

It's totally safe. You have to create a log in for a personal profile which is password protected.
