Using Disney Gift Cards to Buy DD

Does anyone know if I can buy Disney Store Gift Cards on a rewards site, then go to my local Disney Store and buy Disney Dollars. I know you can't use the gift cards at WDW. I'm looking for ways to maximize my reward site points.

Somewhere on this board someone else wanted to do the same thing but their TDS said they could not trade Disney Store Cards for DD.

Points are just slow earners and the only fast way to get points is to look for the extra special deals on shopping. Currently MyPoints has 350 points for a Old Navy Purchase where you can buy a gift card and not be charged shipping (thanks OP). Awhile back we got some great points at Sephora and had a free shipping coupon and we found great lil bargains for things like animal shaped soaps. A great site to check out online coupons/codes for shopping is Current Codes Milesource also has a page for coupons. Also Funtasia's If you want to see what reward program gives points for a certain store and how many they will give check out $draweR


Right now I'd suggest you sign up for Creation Awards where you can earn daily, weekly, search, surfin points, points for playing Sklif and 5 points for each Ebay bid.

I just (2 days ago) used 4 $25 gift cards that I had purchased from disney.com using my webcertificate to get $100 worth of DD from my local DS. Didn't have a bit of trouble and didn't hear a word about not being able to use gc's to purchase dd's.

I finally (why didn't I think of this sooner, duh) called my local DS and they told me that I CAN buy DD with the GC. I asked her several different times and everytime she said yes. Even explained to her that I would be buying them from a rewards site and she said that GC can be used for anything, but cannot be exchanged for cash. Guess I have my answer. Thanks all!

I can tell you that whether you can use your DS gift card to purchase disney dollars is open to the interpretation of the manager you talk to. I asked one of my managers the other day and she said " NO. It's for store merchandise only." But I can also tell you that I saw another store manager read the back of the card and OK the purchase of disney dollars.

My best advice is to call your store, ask for a manager, and if she OKs it, get her name so you can tell the castmember when you get there. A different manager may be on duty.
