If you are on the dining plan do you have to chose from a Prix Fixe menu? Or can you chose anything? Will they allow substitutions?

On the DDP you can either choose 1 app, 1 entree & 1 dessert from the prix fixe menu - NO substitutions

or

1 entree & 1 dessert, NO app.

We have used the DDP at Chefs a few times. You do not have to choose the Prix Fixe menu, I never have. My husband does choose the Prix Fixe and prefers it, but you certainly do not have to. We love Chefs and think it is an awesome choice with or without the DDP. (our picky youngest and our teens love it too!)

On DDP you can either:
  • Choose 1 complete meal from the Prix Fixe menu, or
  • Choose 1 entree, 1 dessert, and a soft drink
Note that the Prix Fixe menu does allow for an appetizer on the DDP! However, they are very picky about substitutions when using this menu and normally do not allow it. For regular menu items, subsitutions are generally allowed for side items if you're looking at a side item that comes with another entree. An example of this was pre-3/1/11 LeCellier where many would substitute the Mushroom Risotto that came with the Filet for the Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes that came with a different entree. This, however, is typically up to the server and is not consistant, so your mileage may vary.

I really want to try the Quiche and the Creme brulee. Do they have the quiche at dinner?

If we have the deluxe dining plan do we still not get an appetizer?

Thanks!

DDP - no - unless you order from the prix fixe menu - this goes for any restaurant which has a prix fixe menu & accepts the DDP

DDxP - yes!

So with our DDxP we don't have to order from prix fixe menus?

Exactly!

People on the DDP like the prix fixe menus b/c they can get an app, but if are on the DDxP there is no need to have your menu choices narrowed by ordering from the Prix Fixe unless that is what you were going to order anyway.

I've only seen the quiche on the lunch menu. They may or may not be able to accomodate you at dinner. It depends on whether the ingredients are still available in the kitchen or if they've been put away to make room for the dinner prep. You can ask, but I would have a back up choice in mind. Or if you absolutely must have quiche, then lunch would be a better option. The creme brulee, however, is available at both meals.

As far as the prix fixe menu - it's designed so that someone on the regular DDP (entree + dessert + non-alcoholic beverage) can have an appetizer if they wish, but they can only choose from the appetizers listed on the prix fixe menu. Since you're on the DxDDP you can choose any appetizer, entree and dessert you wish.

Thank you all for your great explanations. I will book a lunch adr to be sure I get my quiche! :)

Get the lobster bisque!! It was so good I almost licked the bottom of the bowl like a dog!

Here here! Lobster Bisque! Awesome.

But, you can choose the Prix Fixe or you can choose the regular menu. We have had very good at the restaurant and we have had what we swore was pre-prepared and frozen. Good luck. We love this restaurant but it is spotty to us for quality. Great atmosphere though.
