using CS credit for snack ??

not sure if it has been posted anywhere else before, but here was my experience.

The night prior to our departure, we had 8 un-used CS credits to use. I've heard many times before of people using them for snack credits as they wouldn't be able to use them otherwise.

Well, I asked a cashier the last night of our trip (Mar 8th) if this was possible and he advised me that as of JAN 1st - it was not possible any longer. He did, however, tell me that if I wanted to use the CS credits and just get a drink and a dessert he would ring them in for me that way. Certainly not the best use of of CS credit - but in actuality, I think it was better - as we got 2 items instead of just 1 snack.

Just don't try this @ breakfast because you are not entitled to a dessert @ breakfast (just and entree and a drink).

They actually used to do 3 snacks for 1 cs credit, but it was very hit and miss on who would allow it and who wouldn't.

It will be interesting to see if this is strictly enforced or not.

It seems that the new policy is being enforced. I had no luck converting counter service credits to snack credits in Feb 2012 at the POP resort and another poster indicated that it was the same at ASMusic. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2884204 post 20
The one good thing is that they are still allowing you to purchase a continental breakfast (1 drink, 1 whole fruit, 1 pastry) with a CS credit but there doesn't seem to be much flexibility beyond that. I'm not thrilled about the changes especially with the reduction in snack credits from 2 to 1. I wish they would drop the desserts from the plan and offer a couple of extra snacks.
