I need to buy 3 PH tickets for our spring trip. Does anyone know if I can use URs to buy them and what the process is? Is there a cost savings? TIA

There was a post on the I love credit cards thread about someone purchasing tickets (and also party tickets!) Through chase UR. No "savings" except I think if you have the CSP/CSR and the URs are worth more (1.25: 1).

You have to call Chase's Cruise & Tour Dept and make sure when you purchase them you tell them you want tickets direct from Disney (they will sometimes try and get from Funjet vacations I think and then you don't get the #'s to link them right away).

If you have the CSP the UR's are worth more at 1.25 value and if you have the CSR it is 1.5 value. Great deal if you have the CSR.

I just transferred a Carnival Cruise to Chase using my UR's. I have the CSR so value was at 1.5. So, got $3000 of the cruise paid for with 200,000 UR's. So a savings of $1,000. I plan on doing this in the future for Disney Tickets. No where else can you get this savings. (now I just need to build up my UR's again...)

The tickets themselves are not discounted, you'd pay face value from Disney. But the discount is how you value your points. For me, if I didn't pay cash out of my pocket I consider them discounted. If you have one of the travel cards (CSR/CSP/CIP) then as @LynnTH and @Lvsdisney pointed out you get a discount on the number of points needed (more bang for the buck, so to speak).

Will I get actual tickets or confirmation numbers that I can link to MDE? I want to make sure we can make fastpasses in time.

I personally have not bought them (but some have over on the "I Love Credit Card" Thread. I think they get confirmation #'s but you have to make sure that they get the tickets direct from Disney. Call and talk to the Cruise & Tour Dept. Hopefully, they can tell you. Unless someone else here may know for sure.

Call and ask for the Cruise and Tours department and make sure they buy them through Disney. You should get a confirmation number right away. I did this a few weeks ago.

I’ve bought them. If they buy from Disney you’ll get your confirmation # emailed to you almost right away which you can link to MDE. If they process you through Funjet you’re screwed and won’t get tickets until after the 60 day window or a couple weeks after you ordered if you’re already within the window. As a Data Point on the Funjet mess definitely clarify at the beginning of the call with the Cruise Dept they are buying direct from Disney. If they say they can’t or you can’t pay with URs write down their name for your notes, say thanks, hang up and call again. (If you get routed to them again you’ll know to hang up right away.)

Don’t bother fighting the rep or escalating to a supervisor- they know less than the reps!

And I’ll reiterate what others have said to ask for Cruise & Tours department right away. Do not stop to explain you want Disney tickets simply ask to be connected to Cruise & Tours.
