I am not sure if this is the correct place or not. I am probably going to spend my Disney Reward $ for 3 day park hoppers for next week. I might only do 2 days, but need to make my mind up quickly.

I see that online I can get a better price for 3 day park hoppers than at the park. Is it possible to use these $ online? If I wait to buy the tickets at the park, do I just show up with my visa card & can they just apply the credit to tickets?

I am sure this has been answered before on here, so if somebody can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

You want to avoid paying the ticket prices at the park, e-tickets are an easy way to go if going thru Disney.

I agree. Do you know how I can use my Disney reward $ to pay for those? I want them for next week, so hopefully it isn't too late.

We do not do Disney rewards, but I am sure that if you go to the rewards web site it will list what you van use them for, just stay away from the ticket booths.

I couldn't figure it out on their website & was hoping that somebody here knew more than I did.

I don't think it matters now, because I think I have a better plan. I can take the money that I was planning on spending on meals & souvenirs and use that to purchase my park tickets. Then when I get to the park, I can turn my rewards $ into Disney gift cards that can be used on meals & souvenirs.

Does that sound right to anybody?

First off, have you transfered your rewards dollars to a redemption card? You'll need that first before you can use the rewards. Once you have that in hand it acts like a credit card. I was looking on disneyland.com and you can buy your park hoppers with the redemption card, it's one of the payment methods. If you decide to keep it and use it in the park you don't need to buy gift cards, it can be used anywhere that they take credit cards (which is just about everywhere now, except balloon vendors). What's great is once you get your receipt, it will show your balance of rewards on the bottom. Hopefully that makes sense.

We love using our rewards, I put EVERYTHING on the Disney Chase card. :)

Thanks for the reply. I haven't transfered to a redemtion card yet. Since we are leaving Sunday, I guess I need to wait until at the parks to do that, correct?

It is my understanding that putting miles or rewards on a redemption card means it goes on a separate card (like a gift card). Chase will have to mail you this gift card, so it looks like you won't get it in time.

I do this with Discover and American Express and any time I convert miles/rewards to GC's, this is the process.

And are you *sure* you can't use your rewards to directly purchase park tickets online through Chase's rewards program? I don't have this card so I can't log on to see, but with my other cards, there's a LOT of stuff I can buy online instantly without having to transfer points to some redemption card. I'm wondering this b/c this card is partnered w/ Disney - I would hope they have some electronic cooperation between the two companies. :)

No, I am not sure that it can't be done, but I sure can't figure out how. I might have to call if I decide that it is better than my plan B. Right now, I am satisfied with purchasing the parking tickets & using the rewards dollars for everything else. I don't have enough reward dollars for both.

Sorry, I didn't come across right in my last post. :) Best bet is to call the Chase Disney Rewards program and let them answer your questions. They'll be the best source of information for how it all goes down b/c they're the ones banking your rewards! :thumbsup2

Good luck!

Nope you can't do it without the redemption card. But I have heard like PP that you can get your card at City Hall. I would call to make sure though as that would be such a bummer not to be able to use them. Good luck!

Thanks. I did find on their website that I can get them at City Hall or Guest Relations at the entrance. I will just plan on doing that since I will not be able to get a redemption card in the mail ahead of time.

I probably didn't come across right either. No need to apologize. I hate calling call centers if I can avoid it. You never know what you are going to get. I think my question has been answered without calling, so I am all set. Now just need to decide if we want to spend 3 days at the parks or just 2.

If you go through the ticket purchase process, you'll see that it's the redemption card that you can use (or giftcards or credit cards).

And the list of places where you can get a redemption card is:

Disneyland® Resort

• Disney's California Adventure® Park Guest Relations Lobby
• Disney's California Adventure® Park Guest Relations at the entrance to the Park
• Disneyland® Park Guest Relations at City Hall
• Disneyland® Park Guest Relations at the entrance to the Park

Unless you're able and willing to go to GR outside the gates the day BEFORE you are going to go to the parks, get the redemption card, go back to the hotel, log into the computer, buy the tickets, print out the vouchers......

I'd go with your other plan. Use cash to buy the discounted tickets now, get the redemption card, use that to pay for things you would have used the cash to pay for. :)

And if by chance you have the rewards from the DEBIT card... make SURE that the CM knows this, and gives you the correct redemption card. Otherwise you're in for a very frustrating half hour on the phone (and that's if you get routed to the right places and talk to the right CMs! took ME an hour!) while you figure out that you have the CC redemption card, not the DC one. :headache:

Also - hold onto the card even after you spend all the credit - it will have expiry date in the future on it. I originally picked mine up at City Hall and on a later trip just called Chase and had them transfer more points to it - which they did while I was on the phone. Then I was able to use it at the ticket booth - just a few minutes later.

Don't transfer more than you will spend because the expiration date on the card applies to any points on that card too. That's why I just transfer what I need the same day or maybe 1 day prior.

I'm planning on redeeming my points when we go (my first time - I think we're up to about $50) and so is my dad (he got one of those targeted $200 bonus offers). Though I'm positive we won't have any trouble spending that while there, I was wondering how far out the expiration dates are on the cards.

Thanks!
