Using cash over the dining plan

Thanks for the replies, Our dilemma is the missus like the nice buffet breakfasts, which will be the days ts gone, so we've some careful planning to do, tbh I didn't expect the plan to last all 2 weeks but if we get a weeks free dining at the nice restaraunts I'll be happy

Really it should easily last you two weeks. It is a massive amount of food. Many CS meals easily stretch to two so you can use that to compensate any two CS table service restaurants and it's more than possible to east breakfast (or lunch) with a snack credit every day as many of the snacks are equally enormous. We always end up with a fridge full of CS cakes. If you're having a big buffet breakfast you're not going to want much lunch.

Try not to over think things. For me the beauty of the dining plan (if you get it free) is not having to look at prices etc and just having what you want. Good to save a few dollars but prob not a big amount unless you eat alot!

Find its usually counter service meals we struggle to use up

Some of the combo meals - Flame tree BBQ does chicken and ribs - are plenty big enough for 2 people - 1 CS credit for two people. Result.

I'm going to take this advice on-board. My wife and I are going to Disney for the experience, if we were on a tight budget we wouldn't be going at all. Might be different in ten years when we're returning with a couple of kids and empty wallets.

e.g. I am willing to pay the $11 extra to have Tonga Toast and pressed coffee at Kona Cafe rather than get it counter service at Captain Cooks.

The reason that we've used up all our TS credits is that we are wanting to really enjoy our Disney Dining experiences. I suspect we might end up with a few CS credits and snack credits left over.

Can always share the Disney love on our last day and treat someone else in line to some free food :thumbsup2

We found on our last trip that using our final Cs credits to get pizza for the airport from the pizza place on the boardwalk was a good tasty thing to do with our remaining credits

I think the second you start trying to squeeze every penny out of the dining plan you lose some of the magic. Don't get me wrong don't spend money you don't need to but , for example, signature restaurants may be poor value for two credits (cash wise) but they quite often bring twice the "experience".

Your right, we went last year with no dp and didn't worry about the cost of the food then, we've got dp for free this time so if it lasts us a week and we pay oop for the rest it's still better than last time, don't think I'll worry too much about it
