Using Canadian gift cards?

We have a Disney store in Calgary so I should be able to get Disney gift cards there. But can I use them at DLR if they are in Canadian dollars? I like the idea of basically pre-paying for part of the trip by buying gift cards ahead of time. We will be staying on site and will charge everything we can to the room (it’s so much easier!) so I would want to be able to use them to pay for part of the room bill at the end. Does anyone know if that would work? Thanks!

My understanding (as a fellow Calgarian) is that they are converted to USD as you use them. So if you put all your charges on your room and pay it off the last night you'll get the posted rate for that day.

Hi fellow Calgarian! That’s good to know. It’s hard to predict what the exchange rate will do of course but regardless of that it would be a lower credit card bill at the end of a trip. Thanks!

We’re from BC and did exactly this when we went in March. We charged everything to the room and used Disney gift cards to pay off the room charges. They convert to US dollars when you use the cards. It was so nice to have everything prepaid.

Hello my fellow Canadians!
I had an off-topic question, but I wanted inquire: if you purchased the Canadian discount tickets, how do you redeem them?
You print them out and....
I've heard some suggest you go to the ticket booths the night prior to your park day to get actual tickets and showing your Canadian passport;
or others said you can just bring the printout to the turnstiles on your actual park day and they'll just scan you in?

What is your experience? Thanks!

In WDW we had to go to Guest Services to activate our tickets on our magic bands. We went to the one at Disney Springs but you could go to any one. At DLR we went straight to the turnstiles and they printed our paper ticket. I didn’t take a printout to either park. They just scanned our MB at WDW and the app on my phone at DLR because the tickets were already linked.
