I own at Disneys HHI resort and have never been there....I got a great deal on a resale contract and stay at wdw when using it so far have been to BCV,VWL, OKW, BWV, and this year staying at SSR.........Question is this...this year to save money I am driving to WDW and our journey takes us by HHI resort...I was thinking of stopping in to use the Pool and Beach for the day. As an Owner there is this allowed or do I have to be staying there on Points? I know the beach is down the road a mile or so can i just park there or do i need to bus there...Any help is appreciated

someone will be along to correct me if i'm wrong - but i believe the use of all facilities is dependent on your staying there as a guest.

entrance to the resort and to the beach house is via your guest pass - unless the gate is opened for you at check-in.

least that's how it always works for us.

This link is to thread posted in past couple days asking same question that you have; Webmaster Doc & Connears have replied and said no on use of beach & pool although you can stop in at the resort to look around & even though beach itself is public access the 'issue' is not having a parking pass to get beyond guard booth into Palmetto Dunes where Disney's Beach House is located & then a guest key to enter BH

We stop at least overnight at HHI on nearly every drive to/from WDW & our home here in NY. It really is especially nice on drive back home even if just for 1 night because we get there by noon on day we leave WDW and have some much needed time to relax after all the non stop activity at Disney. If you've got some extra points consider staying a night or more ( you can rent an additional 24 pts per UY from MS if you are short on points ) or see if MS has villa available with 25% member's discount.

Best wishes & hope you get to spend time at your HHI home real soon :goodvibes

Your DVC membership does not give you day privileges. You only get use of the pool and other facilities if you are a guest there.

I am staying at Saratoga Springs on points on the day we go to the resort. I will be going to HHI on the same day I will be at SSr. This is considered Pool Hopping and HHI is not a resort banned from Pool Hopping....Can i use the beach than...I know i can use the pool

Here is the Pool Hopping statement from the member's website:

"Whenever you are staying on your Membership at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, Disney's Beach Club Villas, Disney's BoardWalk Villas, Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney's Vero Beach Resort, or The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, you and any Guests staying with you, are permitted to use most of the other Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World® Resort hotel pools (in addition to the pool at the resort hotel at which you are staying) if they are not at capacity."

HH and GCV are not currently included in that policy, but it can't hurt to ask at the resort about using the main pool at HH. The resort is usually happy to allow DVC members to park at the resort and walk around the facilities. If they have any unoccupied and clean villas available they may provide a brief room tour too.

The HH beach is a public beach, but you will need a Palmetto Dunes parking pass to drive there to get thru the security gate. In order to enter the beach house to use the pool there you will need a HH room key. You can certainly ask at the main resort, but they may not be able to provide access to the Beach House. Anyone can walk to the beach without need for an access pass and can then use any of the public beach access areas, including the access area shared by the DVC resort.

Enjoy the resort. :)

Thanks Doc...Ill just call and ask>>

Technically HH and VB have not been included in pool hopping plus you'd have to be checked in first. Get a studio for the day at HH and you'll be all set.

Actually, VB is included in the pool hopping program. See the quote above from the member's website WDW Resorts regarding Member Perks:

HH and GCV are not included though.

I know they made this wording change a couple of years ago but I still don't think that it includes hopping to VB, only the reverse.

Several have recently reported pool hopping at VB from WDW resorts and many have reported pool hopping to WDW resorts from VB. VB is certainly included in the pool hopping statement on the member site.

No one has reported pool hopping to HH or GCV from WDW resorts.

I'd still suggest calling the resort (VB or HH) before driving there just to take a swim. :)
