Using Barclay points

Hi there!

I've google searched, but can't seem to get a clear answer. I thought y'all might know here.

I signed up for a Barclay Arrival Plus card solely for the travel points. I plan to pay for every expense we would normally have with the CC, and then pay it off every month.

I'm seeing that Disney tickets themselves don't count as travel, so not redeemable. What if I book a package through Disney? Or, book a package through a travel agency (Since travel agencies are redeemable for points)? Does anyone know if either of those options would work for redeeming?

If that won't work, I'll save Barclay points for European travels and sign up for a Disney card to use for Disney.

You can get Disney tickets from Undercover Tourist, Orbitz, Cheaptickets, etc, all of which code as travel so would be eligible for the statement credit.

I think a package would work, though tickets will not. You could also fund a Disney Vacation Account to pay for tickets, hotel, etc. The DVA codes as travel.

I have Arrival Plus and have seen Undercover Tourist as travel. I thought you could use the points on anything but get what is now 5% (was 10%) of the points back if you use on travel.

If you use the points for a non-travel expense then you only get half the point value. In that case, 50,000pts would only get you a $250 statement credit. If it's a travel expense then it's a $500 statement credit.

I love my Barclay cards. It is our primary card. The Disney package works for travel rewards. Also, anything you charge to your room and then pay off with the card will work. (so you can charge food, gift shop items, etc, to your room)
