We'll be staying at the Howard Johnson with our 3 little ones. Looks like the walk may be too tiring for them. Any advice on using ART?

Does not run a regular schedule, many times you can get to your hotel before the wait is up, sometimes packed in the AM and after the fireworks, if you are not in the front of the line you maybe left. If you do go with them get a family pass it is cheaper.

will the hotel (Hojo) explain the ART system. I was wondering if you get a pass at the hotel or do you just pay when you get on. And how do I know which bus goes to my hotel, is it written on the outside of the bus?

We will usually walk but my mom has health issues and she may need to use it once in awhile.

I was looking at the art web page, (Thanks for the link Jack!)
and I noticed on the Map it says
TEXT & GO
"TEXT & GO is a text messaging system
that allows you to use your cell phone to
get real time bus arrival information. It is a
quick, simple and convenient way to know
when your bus will arrive. Here is how it
works:
1. Find your STOP ID Number
(listed under the Route Number)
2. Text STOP ID Number to 714-273-8078
3. You will receive the next three (3)
scheduled bus arrival times for that stop"

Has anyone tried this? Is it very reliable?

Your bus will stop at a particular numbered stop and that's where you will board also. Just remember your number!

There are taxis too. The taxi zone is right by the ART zone.

How little are your little ones? My DD *7* used a stroller part time during our recent visits *Holiday weekends so long park hours. IMO kids 6 and under for sure need a stroller.

i had no trouble using the ARt when we stayed at Hojo's. It was on time and was quick. I liked it.
