Using AP for discount on MNSSHP???

I know there is a discount on some dates for MNSSHP using your AP but have a question. Can you purchase these even though you don't have your AP yet? We are going to wait and see what kind of AP room discounts (if any) occur for the 3rd week of Octobe before we get an AP. Didn't know if tickets to MNSSHP worked like the AP room discounts where you can get them in advance even though you don't have the AP in hand yet?

Anyone have any ideas?
