Using Anthony Travel for Minnie?

Has anyone used AT for reservations for the Minnie previously? It quotes on the WWS website of a price of like 395.00 for the "princess package" , which is hotel, transportation, a gift basket, dessert party admission, and 2 day park tix.
Is this worth it? Or do you just pay for everything on your own separate?

I did last year. Race transportation was great and so nice to have instead of getting a taxi at 4 a.m., as we did the first year. Dessert party was nice. However, my Mom and I had our hearts set on staying at AKL and everyone was moved to Saratoga Springs. Apparently it wasn't AT's decision, it was Disneys. I was livid, we had paid alot of money to stay all week ( we're from California) We were told it was because of the DVC construction and there wern't any Savannah view which was total baloney. We also didn't get any type of partial refund or anything. I did think that AT was a little flakey. I got an e-mail saying final payment was late and I had already spoken to someone and made the payment a week before. They dropped the ball a few times on confirmation e-mails and that sort of thing. When I called the first time to book and said" I would like to book the Minnie marathon princess package." the response I got was, "oh, um, okay, uh, what is that exactly? And where?, um, well, ummmm..." and on for about 10 minutes until they finally gave me over to someone who knew slightly more. So I guess you can say my experience wasn't the greatest.

Thanks!! I am gonna try to give them a call again.. last time i called they didn't know the specifics. Also, the price was listed before of 299 per person, now it's listed at 395! Do you remember what you paid?
They had told me before that it will be a moderate hotel.

Sorry, I don't remember what I paid. Coming from California we did stay a week, but I can't remember what the base price of the package was. I hope you have better luck than we did. Don't get me wrong we had a great time, it was just a bummer being moved from AKL to SS 9 days before the trip.

I can NOT Believe you guys got moved to Saratoga Springs last year!! I contemplated booking that package because that was the weekend I graduated from college! Now we have booked a room only through Anthony Travel for MINNIE and RFTT and everything was very good. In fact with MINNIE we made SOOOO many changes and they still got it all straight.

Take it for what it's worth, they were also the best rate we could get

I've also used Anthony Travel for room only ressies for races because, like Angie, I found they were the best rate around at the time -- even better than my tried-and-true AAA that I typically use.

I've had no problems with them. I was considering the Princess package this year since my two princesses (my 15-yr-old twins) are coming with me. It's a lot, though.

Yes, and i noticed that it is only 2 nights hotel.. so we are probably needing 3 nights, which means more $$.. I think we would be better off booking on our own.. at one of the value hotels.
My concern is getting to the races... we won't have a car.. so i guess we would have to take a taxi.. Unless we stayed in an Epcot resort, but then you are talking more $$$$! LOL
I am more than likely doing the 5k, and my sis will be in the 15k.. I guess they have a bus from Epcot that can take you to the start for the 15k at AK.. but we would need to get to Epcot.

OT but, If we want to go to a finish line to cheer on our family, do you need a park admission???

Hey, has anyone gotten the package w/o the tickets? We have APs. I wonder if they'd quote me less??? We're totally out of DVC points for this year.

Would DH kill me if I made him do the race? Is there really enough men there to not make him feel like a dork?

You can just get room though Anthony Travel and sign up for race on website that's what I did last year. There were quite a few men running it, or he could do what my DH did last year and let me do it and brought kids to finish. IT was awesome!! You have to come do it, it's GREAT!!

No you don't need admission to cheer at the finish it is in the Epcot parking lot.

There aren't a lot of men but I was one of them. It is still a fun weeked. I did the 5K & 15K for the Minnie weekend(as DW). This is the last chance to get a Minnie medal.

Just to clarify, as Angie said, if it works like the last couple of years, you can get room-only -- even at the value resorts -- typically for less $ than you can using other discounts. You don't have to get the package with all the extras. That's the only way I've used AT in the past -- and because it saved me money, I was quite happy with them.

Not trying to talk anyone into anything, tho -- just wanted you to know that the Princess Package is not all they will offer. They typically offer rooms at three different hotels/rates (value, moderate, deluxe). I actually got our room for the Danskin triathlon at All Star the first couple of nights, then moved to the Contemporary for race day (only) just so the girls and I could see how the other half lived. It's kind of neat because it's all prepaid, which helps me budget my trip better.

Thanks! We are all set now, we just booked POR for the 5 of us with a AAA discount. I am just more comfortable booking thru Disney.
