Using an extra DP

Long story short, our group of 8 just became a group of 7. We are not looking to get refunds on any part our cancellation, for reasons I won't go into here. We have the 8th Magic Band, and I understand we can still use the FP reservations associated with it. My DP question is this, can we use the cancelled person's DP? For example, we all have a 7 day DP, but we are using 2 TS credits one night to go to Hoop Dee Doo, so we have one night without a TS credit. Can we use the cancelled person's DP for 7 TS meals in one night (provided we all go together) ? Haven't visited WDW in about 5 years, so I'm not sure how all this works now with MagicBands, etc. Thanks!

Credits are allocated to the room, not the person. They're all lumped together.

We did it, a friend cancelled last minute, we were on free dining promo so paid for their ticket and used their credits. We ate at a lot of signatures that trip as 4 people credits between three really helped!

Dining credits should be easy to just use.

The FP+ I'm not as sure about. I know with only FP you had to have entered the park with a ticket to get a FP with it.

So with the new system do you still have to enter the park with a ticket to be able to use the FP+?

Our son-in-law had to cancel at the last minute and we were able to use his fastpasses without having to enter the park.

The extra ticket can be used later or it can be reassigned to another person.
