Using an ECV when staying at the Dolphin

Has anyone used an ECV when staying at the Dolphin?

I will be using one this trip due to a foot injury and just a bit concerned it may take up a LOT of room space! We are 2 adults and 2 children in a double-double standard room.

Just wondered if you had to charge it up in your room or whether there is somewhere near reception where you could leave it overnight to charge?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I've already tried the DISabilities Board but didn't get much response, so thought I might try here too.

We stayed last December at the Dolphin and my father used an ECV. There were 3 adults in the room, and it was just fine. It fit next to the TV just like it was made to be there.

We really did not seem to get in the way here. The closets are a nice size, so you do not need to stack luggage or anything in that spot.

I've stayed at the Dolphin using my own wheelchair, and I've stayed at ASM (2 adts, 2 preschoolers) renting an off-site ECV. You should be fine if you're happy with regular hotel rooms. We've become incredibly picky looking accomodations that give us more space. We're doing 1 nt. with 5 of us at CR, and we'll have the ECV.

I've just charged it in the room and plan to do so again. I wouldn't want to leave it even if reception were willing to watch it.

Debbie - thanks for that info, I know the space you mean near the TV as we've stayed at the Dolphin before, so that's great if the ECV will fit in there - I don't have a clue how big they are as I've never used one before so thanks for the info - it's a big help!

Travelitis - yes I think you are right, it would be better in the room than left in reception I guess and now I know there is a space it will fit in that won't be a problem - thanks for your comments.
