You need to show ID to get the AP discount.

I think everything links back to your MDE account, so whichever you use, it should work.

Yes I understand that but my brother wasn't trying to get an AP discount--it was just a small pack of Halls. He was trying to charge it to our room using his AP card and the CM wouldn't let him.

But you were able to use it like a KTTW then everywhere? Room access, payment, and FP+?

Yes. For payments it asks for a pin as normal. My brother and I had separate pins tied to our own passes that we set up for our magicbands at check in.
