using an air bed everyday

There are different kinds. We have an older model that doesn't hold a lot of air not too comfy. My sister started sleeping on one when she moved and realized her back and shoulder/neck problems (from a car accident yrs ago) got much better, so she invested in a nicer one and is still using it.

OP here, I did buy an Ozark Trail from Wal-mart, and have been sleeping on it for 4 months-the only complaint I have is I miss getting in a warm bed especially on cold snowy evenings as tonight is. This one is flocked, and I have a nice matress pad on it then the sheet. I have put air in it 2 times since the original fill I actually think I am sleeping better on it then my old waterbed(of course that was slowly losing the water so I was to the point I was bottoming out). I will be making the switch to the bedroom suite and regular mattress in the near future-getting a nice tax return so hopefully I will be happy with a $500-$600 mattress as I am with my 35.00 air mattress

i have a twin size electric blanket on my bed...turn it on high for 5-10 mins BEFORE you plan to get in and it will be warm for you...Turn it off as soon as you get in.............maybe that would help..

We have a Select Comfort Air bed. We bought it before my second pregnancy almost 10 years ago! I think at the time a queen retailed for $600. It is a wonderful bed, ours has dual control chambers, so my Dh and I can adjust our sides the way we like it. (He has always preferred a softer mattress than I). The entire inner chamber system and baffles(thick foamy edges) are enclosed in a plush zipper pillow top outer layer. If you looked at our mattress you would have no idea it was an air bed. The air chambers are still in great shape with no leaks, but all the pieces are replaceable if need be. The only thing that is worn out is the center baffle probably because of laying on it. We fixed that by adding some rolled up towels to the underside of the baffle. We just use a regular box spring, nothing fancy.

My parents replaced their regular mattress a few years ago (back problems/hip problems). They've used Colman and Ozark Trails. However, they purchased an Aero from Costco last summer and really like it. Sure it's pricey...but since they sleep on it all the time, it was worth the money for them.

If it's going to be a temporary situation, go with the coleman or ozark trail. If it's going to be any longer than say 6 months, look into something that would be hold up for a longer period of time.
