Using a Publix GC can you purchase other brand GC's

This week you can get $10 Publix GC for purchase of $30 worth of specific items. Do they give you that GC at the register with the purchase? Can you purchase another brand Gift Card with it? ie gas, target, etc. Anyone have success?

I honestly don't know. Kroger no longer allows this. But Publix isn't very gift card friendly. They won't allow you to buy more than $50 of gift cards if you're paying with a credit card.

I guess missed the fine print....I called Publix, seems you go to a website and enter your receipts (or mail them in, not sure) and then Publix sends you the gift card. Nice but you have to jump some hoops first.

ALSO, the important part to me, is that you CAN use the card toward other brand gift cards like gas etc. She thought they mail the Publix gift cards to you, so I don't know the turn around time.

I wonder if you could buy Publix gift cards then and avoid the $50 credit card limit. (So load $500 onto a Publix gift card with a credit card and use that to buy gift cards.) My mom is really annoyed by this new rule because she buys a ton of gift cards their at Christmas for the kids and grandkids.

It would be worth asking the manager at her local store if that store allowed it.
