Using a joovy caboose at disney... (sit n stand)

Hi! I have a joovy caboose for my 4 month old and 2 yr old. Around the mall and stuff, we have no problems. Works out pretty well for 2 yr old since she hates being in a stroller. However, I am worried about using it in Disney when we go in September. The baby will be almost 8 months, and I will no longer be using the car seat attachment, and the regular seat does not recline much.
Has anyone used this in disney and made out okay? It just doesn't seem like it will be too comfortable for either dd when they want to rest.
I do have an umbrella stroller for older dd, and my huge travel system stroller still that we could put the baby in, but I really don't want to drag around 2 strollers...
Any advise, or previous experience??

I can't give advice really, but we just bought the Joovy Caboose for our upcoming trip. My little guys are 1 and 4, so not having a seat that reclines flat wasn't really an issue for us. My guys tend to fall asleep sitting up, and the older one rarely naps so they'll be fine. I did get little neck pillows for them to help prop their heads if they do fall asleep.

Perhaps if you're really concerned you could bring the Caboose and the umbrella stroller since umbrella stollers aren't that big. Try out the caboose the first day and if you need to recline the baby(which makes the back seat uncomfortable for resting) you could just take the umbrella the next day... or rent one in the park for the bigger one.

I have a Caboose (got it for WDW). I use it with ds (now 5) and dd (almost 2). The first time I used it, ds was 4 (hes very tall 95%) and dd was ~15 mos (also very tall). Both kids were able to sleep in it, although they didnt look comfy. DS sat in the back, and would hook the back strap together, then rest his arms on it, head on his arms. For dd, I would recline the front (made it a tad tight for ds) and she rested her head on the side of the canopy.

For the then 8 mos old, I dont think it would be very comfy since it doesnt recline much, but then again, at that age they can pretty much sleep any where, any time, in any position. Is there any way you can use the car seat with it just for the trip?

DS loves the fact that he can hop on and off when he likes (which can also be a pain). It was a tad hard to push with both kids, but the biggest pain was having to fold it up to get on the buses. Since the wheels lock, it was as simple as pull it along. We've actually decided to start driving to the parks that arent on the monorail (we stay at CR). With AAA diamond parking its so much easier than dealing with the buses. Other than that, its nice to have at WDW. I like the mesh cup holders on the back of the front seat, the large storage basket with the sliding seat to cover it. I also rigged up a mesh stroller basket to the side for carrying ponchos and a rain cover for the stroller (in case youre interested, I think the rain cover I got at BRU is for a tandem front to back stroller and works pretty well).

Thanks for the input!! We too are renting a car, just b/c I can not imagine the two of us fighting to get on the bus with 2 tired kids, stroller, bags, etc... I did think about using the car seat for the baby, but she is already almost 16 lbs and 25 inches at 4 months, so I don't know that she'll fit in it comfortably by september, lol, so we'll see...
My dd2 also likes to hop off the back... not always at the most convenient times either
I like the idea of both strollers also...

The wheels on our Caboose don't have to stay locked when you fold it. If they're unlocked when you fold it they stay unlocked, so you can just pull it behind you. You can also unlock them once folded. I did this to get it out to the car as I shouldn't be lifting a toddler and a stroller while preggers.

However, at Disney it will be hubby wrestling the stroller

Mine didn't come with a safety strap on the back. It must have been something they phased out.

I think I have one of the first models-hence the safety strap on back and wheels that lock. I would love to be able to unlock the wheels when folded, but no such luck!

I got my Joovy right after they came out and it has the safety straps & the locking wheels too.

We used our Joovy in May at Disney, DD 4 and DD7months. It really wasn't bad to have to fold it and lug it on the busses. It's not the super comfy, but it worked for us.

Are you planning to go back to your room for naps? When we took DS at that age he did like to ride & sleep, but we didn't have another child. When we went with DD 11 months and DS 3 1/2, we brought only a single stroller and DS wanted to sit in it a lot. One day we were with family and sat down for a meal. DD went in a highchair and DS took over the stroller and slept for 2 hours!

We also had a baby bjorn on that trip so that DD could go in there and DS could ride in the stroller. I would strongly suggest some kind of sling or carrier because there are a lot of places you can't take a stroller and carrying a heavy baby gets old fast.

We are still trying to decide... dd1 (2 yrs old) does not nap any longer, but we will probably need a break from the heat. I'm hoping dd2 (8 mos when we travel), will be a sleep on the go kind!

Your 8 month old will fit in a sling, wrap or bjorn-type carrier of some kind! There have been long threads about the different kinds. Try a search, I'm not sure how well search is working these days.

Even if your 2 year old doesn't nap anymore, Disney is exhausting and it's not like home.

We also have the caboose- red one from Babies R us- actually it is our 2nd one- wore the first one out- too many miles They replaced it under the warrenty Last Sept. Our daughter was almost1 and pretty tiny, our son was 3 1/2 and tall- and it worked so well for us! It was also great in the airport- one of us could handle all the carry-ons the other the kids in one stroller that was gatechecked. It was perfect!
We also had no problems folding it for busses, and staying at AKL we needed the stroller at the resort too- so renting at the parks was never a consideration.
