Hi, all! We are going to be in USH on a day forecast to rain. I know that this can change, and I'm not worried about it - we will go and have a blast no matter what! Just curious what closes in the rain?
I would guess outside roller coasters? What about the Studio Tour? And this might be a dumb question - but do the escalators from upper lot to lower work in the rain?

TIA for an advice!

I am supposed to attend on a rainy day, too. I have decided to wait until the last minute to decide if we will go or not depending on rainy it will be. I am hoping you get some answers here as I am interested to hear what others have experienced. I suppose the good news will be that it may be a lot less crowded.

Yes, everything is basically open, up and running.

The Studio Tour has special clear plastic sides that help with the rain. (They are not perfect, but serve the purpose when needed.)

The Escalators do work.

There is only one small outdoor roller coaster at Wizardly World, not sure about that attraction being open.

The small outdoor shows are moved undercover or not offered.

All the ride queue are covered for the most part - some extended queue areas aren't, but the park tends to not need them on rainy days, which usually have light crowds.

And since rain in Southern California tends to not last long, you just go find a ride or show to see,and hopefully the "hard" rain is gone by the time you are done.

Just dress appropriately and you will be fine.

Flight of The Hippogriff, the parks only outdoor roller coaster remains open during the rain. However if there is lighting in the area Flight of the Hippogriff, Silly Swirly, Jurassic Park, and Water World will shutdown.

Also, Universal does something really nice when the wether is really cold or if it rains, they will give guests FREE hot chocolate and coffee and play Universal Movies inside the Globe Theater next to Minion Mayhem. Its a really nice thing they do!
