Hello All! We will be visiting some friends on Thanksgiving weekend and plan on try to go to USF/IOA. I would like to know what are the crowds like on Friday and/or Saturday after Thanskgiving on those parks (considering the current economy and that a lot of people are cutting back on spending and/or traveling, we might not see the same crowds as previous years). We haven't decided if we will be doing both parks or just 1. A few weeks back we went and bought the Express Plus pass and it helped a lot, but I would like to know if we can do the parks without it at that particular date. Any comments are welcomed! Thanks!

We were at Universal last Thanksgiving (and are doing so again this year). We stayed on site and of course didn't have to deal with the lines. In any case the lines were not too bad on Thanksgiving day. On the weekend it got very busy after about 11:30.

We just booked rooms yesterday at the Royal Pacific for $161/night (Thu-Fri) and $170/night (weekend) plus tax for the four day weekend with our annual pass rate. That might be a better deal than buying multiple express passes depending on the size of your party.

Thanksgiving weekend is very busy for all local parks. Express passes wouldn't be a bad idea but wait until you arrive and get a firsthand view of the crowds before buying.
