Which of those two programs would you recommend?
I do all of my bill paying online through my bank, I am looking for one that would be relatively easy to use for tracking checking, savings as well as investment accounts.

Also users of these programs do you keep a seperate check book register where you write everything by hand (the old way) or do you do everything on the computer or online?

TIA for any feedback you all can give me.

I use Quicken and I love it. I do still record everything in a regular checkbook, but then I enter the data into quicken. After I have it all entered, I download my transactions from the bank and match them up. You'd be amazed at how many things go through for the wrong amount, go through more than once, things I forgot to record, or things that never clear the bank (freebies!). You can also download your credit card transactions if you're cc company participates (Disney VISA does!). You can also transfer data to Turbo Tax when you are ready to do your taxes. You can even print out reports showing what you've spent and where - it can be a very eye-opening experience!

We use Quicken. We only use it for checkbook reconciliation and to keep track of some stocks/investment accounts. It will update the current price of these automatically. We do not keep a separate checkbook log by hand. I don't really know anything about MS Money to compare the two, but we've been happy with Quicken.

I've used Money for many years (at least 7 or 8) and it only gets better. There is so much to it that I don't even use.

Have used quicken for at least 8-9 yrs...love it!

Which Bank?

Merryl Lynch and quicken do not talk. Bankof America works as a one click update.

Besides, your bank may have a free copy for you...My bank gave me one when their banking software went away...

I use Quicken...

Just started using Microsoft Money tonight.

All I can say is "wow".

Coolest thing is though: Voice guide.

Just awsome.

Haven't tried Quicken, can't comment there.

My bank is BankOne, I do all of my bill paying thrrough them. From what I read they are compatible with both Quicken and MS Money.
Thanks for all the responses. I really want to find a way to streamline the whole process. Right now I keep a notebook and/or register for every account and I feel as if I am swimming in paper.
