My family and I were planning a shore excursion to Blue Lagoon
on our Nassau day, however the Dophin Encounter is booked
and I am thinking there won't be enough to do (the trip is
from 9:30-2:30). So I am considering taking a taxi to a hotel
beach to enjoy part of the day on our schedule! Can any
one reccommend a resort where cruisers are welcome? Thanks.

The public beach on Paradise Island is next door to a hotel, so most people just use the restrooms there (the public beach does not have restrooms or chairs/umbrellas). You can walk the length of the beach behind all the hotels, including Atlantis. In theory, it's all "public," but of course you cannot use the hotel chairs and umbrellas. The cab fare is typically $4 to $5 per person each way. There are banana boat rides, parasailing, and jet ski rentals (be cautious...hubby got stranded in the ocean when his jet ski conked out). There are also vendors selling drinks and trinkets...don't worry, they're not overly pushy.

Where do you ask the cab driver to take you when going to this beach? Do you just let him know you want to go to the public beach on PI or a specific beach name?

Thanks.

Just specify that public beach on Paradise Island and they will know exactly where you mean. It was actually a cab driver who originally told us about this beach.
