poll to come...
Do you make your bed every day??
as I kid I use to say - 'I'm just going to mess it up again in a few hours'
now it drives me NUTS when DD-11 says that!

I used to think it was just a waste of time. But honestly, it is just comforting to come home to a nicely made bed. And it sleeps so much better with flattened sheets than with the old balled up mess from not making it up. It only takes 30 seconds, but is well worth it. It really is the simple things... :cloud9:

I make my bed every morning. I also make my 3 yr. old DS's and straighten up 5 yr. old DD's after she makes it. I NEVER made my bed as a kid or teen ager and never even saw the point. Now it just bothers me, even if I'm in a different room, to know that my bed isn't properly made.

All beds must be made when I leave the house.

I only make it after I wash the bedding.

Same here, lol. Or if I know company is coming over I'll make it (my only bathroom is upstairs so everyone gets to see my bedroom, lol).

The only time I make my bed is when I have guests over and thier coats are going to be tossed on my bed.

I hate having my covers tucked in. I don't care how the bed looks. I take my blanket off the bed before I sleep anyway. So why would I bother making it in the morning?

I always make the bed, it makes the room look cleaner. I have to agree about the lumpy sheets. I also make sure dishes are done and table is cleared, even if I can't get anything else done :)

I only make my bed when company is coming over.

I Do !!
DS says the same thing, I'm going to mess it up again tonight, why bother..

No, my husband is still in it..........
:rotfl: Years ago when DH and I were first together he made the bed up while I was still sleeping.

My ex worked nights and I worked days so used to be the bed was never made because someone was always in it. Since my divorce, my bed gets made every morning before I leave for work.

It just makes my room look tidier. :)

Nope unless some one is coming over .. and even then I do not put the pillows under the comfortor !!! when i was 9 or 10 I wrote my mom a note (which she saved - I am almost 35 now) that says "Dear Mom, I will make my bed everyday for you but I will never never ever put my pillows under the bedspred" and i still don't till this day..
I don't have my kids make their beds till sunday before they leave for their dad's for the week so incase company arrives during the week their rooms are presentable!

Well, my husband makes the bed, but not in the morning. He makes it at night right before we go to bed. My philosophy is why bother. I don't make my son make his bed either. I will periodically retuck his blankets if they come out, but that is it.

I'll make it on my days off, when the morning's aren't as rushed. I'll also make it if company's coming over, depending on who the company is.

I work days, DH works nights, and about the time I'm leaving, he gets home, so he makes the bed when he gets up in the afternoon. But then it is only made for a few hours, but I like the room to look neat. An unmade bed makes the whole room look messy, IMO.

I didn't used to, but now I do because our house is up for sale. When someone calls to see it, it's much faster getting ready if the bed is already made. I think I'll continue to make it after it sells. I like the way the house looks when it's neat and tidy. And our new house will have the bedrooms downstairs where I'll see them more often.
