Benjamin Franklin, in a wide-ranging discussion of bodily discharges, once noted, "a few stems of asparagus eaten shall give our urine a disagreeable odor; and a pill of turpentine no bigger than a pea shall bestow upon it the pleasing smell of violets."

This has to be the most useless yet most fascinating yet!! :rotfl2:

What a great idea for a thread!!! :teeth: Hmmm, now I need to think of something useless that I've learned on the DIS...I'll get back to you.

I learned that there are often street definitions for words. Definitions that one would not have imagined.

I learned that irregardless is not really a word - who would have thunk it?

O.k. My new co-workers think I am a little strange sitting in here giggling out loud.

Thanks, Denae

LOL to the Ben Franklin quote! Observant man, that Ben.

Hmmmmm, thinking. Tough one. I tend to remember all the USEFUL things I've learned here. :thumbsup2

I learned to never reuse my reusable mug!

I've learned how to make grilled cheese sandwiches with an iron.

Its not a useless FACT, but it is useless info.

I learned about pogo.com & the Poppit game on the DIS. Now I'm addicted to it when I just want to chill & not think. Mainly when I need a break from the bickering on the DIS. :thumbsup2

Oh wait, that makes it useFUL. I'll keep thinking. :teeth:

Why people get banned...and that zip lock bags can hold a 16 oz thing of baby powder.

I learned a great wealth of information in the past week and it's too difficult to single out just one gem.

But I must say that crockpot recipes, especially for meals that are served in overcrowded hotel rooms, do rate among my personal favorites.

I learned not to complain about garbage men

I have learned how to grill in a bathtub. You just place coals in the bottom of the tub, a little lighter fluid, place the little grate you packed on top, and voila - a steak dinner in your room. Better than room service.

I also learned that canned corn makes a tasty lunch in the parks :rotfl:

I have learned that Sonic employees often make approximately $96,000 per year. But that is only if you have a genius IQ.

I'm in the wrong line of work then. :rotfl2:

I've learned that whenever I don't know what to think about something, many people (because using the term a lot is ignorant  ) will jump right in and tell me exactly what I should be thinking. :thumbsup2
