It's an Italian after dinner cordial. Not too sweet, and not to lemony (is that a word), they only use the rind of the lemon. Some people make a "home made" version. Here's a version you may have heard of.
Brown 1-2 pounds of ground beef with a purple onion. Add a packet of taco seasoning and Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning. Then dump 2 cans of petite diced tomatoes, 1 can of rotel, and 2 cans of corn - all undrained.
Drain and rinse 4 cans of beans and add to the soup. I use pinto, northern, black, mixed or kidneys...just depends on what I don't have to climb up on the shelf to get. (I know you have that problem too.) I usually add a cup or two of water to make it soupy, but it depends on the consistency of what you want. Simmer and enjoy. I make a pan of cornbread to go with it or we have Fritos with it, but we ALWAYS top it with sour cream and hot pepper jack cheese. I know Bruce will want to forego the cheese, but you don't have to!
I thought this thread was the best place to post this, under "useless". Disney finally gave me my one year safe driving pin, which I had to hound them for. The thing is that I'm much closer to getting my three year safe driving award than the one year award. It's a very nice looking pin which BTW we are not allowed to wear.
Strict costume rules. A name tag and the Mickey american flag pin is all that is allowed.
Wouldn't guests that new what the pin stood for like to see that their driver has earned one?
