Useless facts/Chit Chat Thread

You should name the puppy Chaz,,after Charlie, :thumbsup2

Denise said the next male pet we get she's gonna name it after me.
But I don't think it's nice to call a animal "shi...poop head".

Believe me, that name has been used for Charlie in the past! :lmao:

Right now Charlie won't have anything to do with her, even though she followed him all around the house trying to play (once she learned how to walk on the laminate floor).

I wanted Abby, but DW wanted Lucy. DW had such a rotten day yesterday that I decided she should at least win the name contest. Besides, she looks like a Lucy.

Well, we pulled the trigger on a new puppy yesterday. The only bright spot in the day. She's a 7 week-old lab mix, and sweet as she can be. She's also loud when she's upset. Her first night in a new house, in a crate, and we had thunder storms all night. DD slept in the living room, and we could hear her talking to the puppy whenever she started crying.

I gotta work today, but at least I'm home tomorrow. Sounds like she is following our resident Shih Tzu around trying to play, but Charlie isn't having anything to do with her at the moment. At least they aren't growling and snapping at each other. :thumbsup2

Awwww! Congrats on the puppy! Does she look like a camping dog?

But, of course! :rotfl:

DW is not convinved of the room available in the TT, since this "puppy" should get up to 30-40 pounds, but I keep saying, there plenty of room in the bathtub (for the dopg, not me). We should have her house trained and sleeping at night by then. :thumbsup2

I just want to get home from work and watch Charlie trying to be a snob while she's begging to play. She was in a litter of 9, so she's definately used to playing with other dogs. Probably can't figure out why this one keeps blowing her off. :lmao:

If you want a fun thread to watch on the CB, I am enjoying "Southwest Airlines Offensive." It's an argument about SW painting a model in a bikini on of their planes, as an ad for Sports Illustrated.

I love to watch a good argument.

my useless chit chat for the day!

I just realized last night that my only child is a tween!

before 8pm last night she grabbed the cordless phone and plopped down in front of the TV. She was waiting on some 1.800 number to come up for a sweepstakes...for those of you with kids...it was for the Kids choice awards. I could hear her say after each 30 min. show..."maybe it'll be on the next show". Well...at about 10.30...i noticed that she was still there ....but looking not as excited as she was earlier. So i sat down to find out what was going on. She said that she hadn't seen the # at all. I asked when it was supposed to come on. I looked online and saw that the phone lines were going to be opened from 8-9. It was well past that. We have a DVR, so i started to play the first show that came on at 8. Within 2 minutes the # was on the bottom. She started crying like you wouldn't believe!! She was watching for them to literally TELL HER THE #. It was so awful for her, but so cute to me that she was paying so much attention to what they were saying that she didn't notice the bottom of the screen. It was difficult for me to not smile. She kept talking about how she deserved to win, and wanted it sooo bad.

It was a trip to Hollywood for the awards, put up in some lush hotel, 1k, and 'orange' carpet access to meet all the stars...INCLUDING THE JONAS bros.

my daughter's first tears over not winning a contest to see some kid stars...next...subscription to TEEN BEAT!:lmao:

okay...sorry to be so long winded ...
but #1350...should be a long one!

Awwww, I'm so gald I'm over those teen years, wish it wasn't quite this far over. ;)

My tween asked me to try to be like TCD and sneak them into a disney location to meet the JOBROS....I looked at her like she was crazy...then punched her in the forehead!! She got to see stars right then without having to wait for traveling...and it didnt cost me a dime!!;)

We don't go as much as we'd like, either. The rates at FtW are too high right now. But....biking riding at the fort is a good second option.

Hey, speaking of bike riding.......I just got my kids bikes. I am hoping they will learn to ride well enough so that MDW we can take the bikes to the Fort, and they can practice riding there.

Anyone have any suggestions to teach a kid how to ride?

push them down a hill, the harder you shove the funnier it is

Wear your helmet !

lol. Well, what I did is buy these stupid things called "Balance Buddy" which is basically a a pole that attaches to the rear wheel of their bike.

At the time, it made perfect sense and thought it would be better than training wheels to give them the "feel" of riding. But when I woke up this morning feeling like I had been hit by a truck after a weekend of getting way more excersise than I am use to....well, now I am thinking it wasn't such a great idea.

I don't want to stick training wheels on their bikes because I feel like they don't really learn that way.

And yes, they do have helmets.
