Rob, I just know in my heart that we'll wake up at the Fort and you'll be stand'n there with the family say'n "Surprize !! It was all a hoax, we planned to come all along !!"

I wish. School in session, plus a peanut allergy is difficult to handle gracefully on Halloween. There'd be so much candy around that was dangerous we wouldn't be able to let DS get near the party. Our neighborhood all knows about the allergy, and the neighbors all have either safe candy or non-candy ready for him. He gets cooler stuff for Halloween than everybody else, and doesn't even realize what he's missing. As a system it works pretty good, so I wouldn't even try to mess with it.

Be sure to celebrate some for me while you're there.

Personally..I hate Halloween. It usually means trouble around here. An excuse for kids to egg your house, steal your pumpkins, or shaving cream your car. While I do enjoy the fall..the harvest theme, and all of that. The entire trick or treating thing..I really have no use for.
Of course seeing little ones at the Fort trick or treating, that's another story. That sounds adorable, and I'd love to see it one day.
I just can't stand these big goofs who come to your door, without a costume, and just want candy. You need to decide..do I give it to them or do they come back later and egg my house?...
Frankly, I was happy to be away last year on Halloween, so I didn't have to deal with it.

Aww Kelly, you're very sweet.I'd really love to. I'm so sad to be missing the best GG to date! So many of you I'd truly love to meet and see in person.

I'm really needed here right now. My dad was admitted to Hospice Home Care yesterday. He's fought a long courageous battle since his stroke 12 years ago..but he is tired. He was hospitalized last week for heart failure (again).
I spoke to his doctor after dad made it very clear to me he was tired of fighting. Seems the last few months especially we are fixing one problem (renal failure in Auugst) to fight another the following month. He's tired and wants to rest. Only in his mind he's still the head of the family and thinks he has to be here for us. He asked me if I'd be alright if he rested..and I told him I would be.(okay..I lied )..and that I would take care of mom. It was a truly heartbreaking moment, and I cried like a freakin' baby. Yep..almost 52 years old, and he's still my "daddy". I guess you're always the child no matter how old you get. Even when it's you who takes care of the parent. You can't break that bond. (Thank goodness for Deb..she has received more tearful e-mails and text messages than any one person should read in a week!..I so appreciate her support. She's been through this herself, and knows what I'm facing) I know though we have to do this for him.
So...although I'd love a visit to the Fort and to meet all you wonderful folks in person, I don't want to venture too far from home at this time.

I DO EXPECT to see loads of pictures..and at least have my photo posted on a tree during one of your Grand Gathering festivities. I will be there is spirit, and look forward to reading about all your fun here on the Dis! Don't forget about me!

Phyllis, I am all teary-eyed right now. I'm so sorry about your Dad. I can only imagine what you're going through. I wish there was something I could do or say to make all this easier for you. You are a wonderful person and daughter. It doesn't matter how old we are...they are always our "daddy" to us. You and your family are in my prayers, as always. If you need anything, just yell - I'm only 3 hrs away.

Phyllis, so sorry to hear about your dad. Dang this is one lousy year for problems like this. If you need an extra ear to bend, I got two, I have been leaning on people here with all my medical problems, I need to repay the favor.

You're right though, this has been a crappy year.

On the "upside" of things...I'm sooo looking forward to seeing photos of all of you at the GG. Can't wait!

So many of you here on the Dis have been of great support. A kind word here or there, it really helps. Not to mention listening to my mindless ramblings and experiences with my dad. It has meant a lot...really.

NOW.. enough of this saddness! You make sure you have a GRAND ol' time at that GRAND GATHERING! I'll be anxiously checking the Dis for updates and photos! Can't wait!

Phyllis, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad - I don't get on here much anymore, but I'll keep checking back. I will miss you at the GG - we'll meet sometime though. I want to see your tags in person!

Thanks Al..appreciate it. One of these days we'll meet. We did get close last year. We had to have been in the Orlando airport at the same time. I was departing..and you were arriving... Probably passed one another right by.

I just spent 35 minutes trying to give Disney more money.... all I was trying to do was pay off my ressies. I got transferred at least 5 times, group res center said I was a single family, regular res center said I was part of a group.... Geesh, all I wanted to do was give them $700, and I couldn't even do that without a fight....

I swear, if things don't start going better, I am going to freak out!!!

I'm mad at Disney because all their changing of site levels this past year will leave me in either 100, 200, or 300 for the GG week. When I booked my ressie in February, 1600-1900 were preferred loops. When I called CRO last week to speak with them about adding a day to my ressie, I asked if I could request 1700. Uh....NO!! You booked a preferred site & full hook-up sites are full during the time we're staying. Correction!!! I told CRO that 1600-1900 were considered preferred when I made the ressie, and those are the loops I wish to be assigned to....preferably 1700. She apologized and asked me which of the preferred loops I'd like to request. I gave up and told her 200. So watch....I'll be put in 300 just because I don't like that loop.

Everything is annoying me lately. I sooooo need a GG with some fun people and lots of beer!!!

I could shoot myself that I didn't take Carol up on her offer of joining the GG ressie. I could just shoot myself!!!
