For those who are still finding their way around WDW, especially unsure of themselves when at OKW, the map that came with the SSR mailing is excellent.

It shows how OKW is just around the corner from BWV/BCV. Also, the "backway" to the WL/MK is clear to see. You take Community Drive to Bonnet Creek. Turn right. When you hit Vista Blvd., turn left. Turn right onto World Dirve and then either left on Seven Seas Drive to MK parking, the Poly and GF; right on 7 Seas (which becomes Timberline) and directly into WL; or keep going straight down to the Contemporary which will be on your right.

It also shows how to get from BWV/BCV out to DD and then the Crossroads Shopping and other grocery stores. Just get on Buena Vista Drive, follow it around to DD. If you want to get out to the other stores take the road that is unmarked on the map but is Hotel Plaza Blvd and it will take you out to SR 535, where the shopping is located.

OKW/SSR folks can take the back way to 535 by turning right on Community Drive, out onto Buena Vista Drive and then turning right to meet up with Hotel Plaza.

Pam that is the only way go to DD from OKW, it is much quicker and shorter. The map they sent with the SSR info is excellent.

Was this map sent only to people who purchased SSR?? If anyond can scan it and post a link to it, that would be great.

It is being sent to all current DVC members. We just got ours in Ohio on friday(8-8).

I'm so 'new' that I don't think that I'm on the list to receive the materials yet. I'm sure that I'll end up getting them, but not yet.

I can't even be added to the member newsletter via e-mail for another 2 to 3 weeks when I get in their system completely.

It's part of the member promotion to buy SSR. It's on the back of the card that says "Saratoga Savings".

believe me, ArnyVee, they won't waste the opportunity to send it to you!! God forbid Disney ever miss a chance to market something. it will arrive. . . .

Pam,I thought the same thing when I saw the back of the sheet. We haven't driven much in the past, but are planning to this time. I immediately put the map with my folder of "important stuff" that I need to take.

Pam, I don't know if you have seen one or not, but there is a map called Walt Disney World Transportation Guide/Map - Compliments of the Disney Vacation Club. It has a larger more detailed version of the map that you are referring to. I got it from the Bell Services desk once and I got one on our next trip from the front Desk, you have to ask for it, they normally don't have them laying out.

Did anyone else notice they never actually wrote it was $89.00 PP?

They only wrote "starting price $13,350.00 for initial ownership interest and $2,225.00 for an additional ownership interest"

Do they think that if they said $89.00 PP it would scare people away?

And how about the GV in adventure season 67/85 points that in contrast to OKW at 36/88.

Although it does look very ,very nice.

The map does shop a lot about where the resorts are in relation to each other.

Have a nice day.

Terry---Was that at BCV? I will have to ask for this when we go in Sept. Sounds really helpful.

Thanks,

Nancy, yes that was at BCV! I kept the map because it really comes in handy. This one not only shows the DVC resorts, but also all the other resorts as well and it labels some of the smaller roads as well.

The map we got looks identical to others we have with the exception that it has the DVC resorts marked in bold letters. I wish I would have had this to post when Lisa was complainng about OKW being "so far away" from the parks. I have always felt it was between Epcot and DTD, and this map shows it might be closer to Epcot.

Here is another map showing roads of WDW that I find useful: WDW Road Map . This comes from the Disney-Canada web site and requires the Adobe Acrobat reader.

Ralph

That's a great map, Ralph. I think I saw this one somewhere before too, but I printed it off.

Thanks, ralph, that's a nice one! And thanks, Pam, too. Didn't notice it since we don't plan to buy points there (famous last words?), but now it is securly placed in my Passporter!

The map that I have is the exact one that Ralph&Pam have put a link to. In my post it says that the map is compliments of DVC as you can see from this map, they note all the Disney Vaction Club Information Centers with a "D" in a gold circle. To give you an idea, the one I have is the size and folds just like a Park Map, kind of in half and then in thirds.

Ralph,

Thanks! I have been hoping to get this map in PDF format for quite a while. This is the same map available in WDW that is refered to as the "Transportation Guide."

Thanks Again :D

We received the SSR mailing yesterday (8-9). The only thing in the envelope is the card with the artist renderings and points chart. There is no info on the sales stuff. We moved to WA last year and I read somewhere the other day it is one of the states they can't "sale" in. I guess that is why we only got part of the mailing.
