Well, we just came back from a long weekend & wanted to report we had great luck using our Connections vouchers. We stayed at the Beach Club, so guess where we ate on the cheap!!!

3 times at Beaches & Cream!!

I've now had everything on the menu ;) I would stay away from the prime rib sub, it was very dry, but everything else was just GREAT! We did not get a Kitchen Sink (we could have), but I did get a three scoop Sundae with Hot Fudge, Butterscotch, almonds, whipped cream, strawberries & I forget what else! It would have been 9 dollars without the vouchers...

Anyways, DD & I split a meal (she's only 4), DS got a kids meal & DH had a meal... we used two vouchers per visit & paid the seven dollars for the kids meal plus additional tip. Each of the visits would have topped out around 45.00 (cost two vouchers or 22.00) plus the 7.00 for the kids meal... each visit we started with a root beer float (these are SO yummy)... All in all, this was SO WORTH IT!!!

We ate lunch over at Alfredo's one afternoon, we used an adults voucher & a kids voucher (about 40.00 for both). Our bill would have been $89.00 Here was the breakout for the vouchers

Kids Voucher (~11 or 12.00)
Minestrone soup 4.95
Childs Chicken nuggets (both kids ate them) 4.99
Six glasses of milk between the 2 kids
Childs Dessert 3.50

Adults Voucher (~27 or 29.00)
Stuzzicarolo (totally not worth it) 23.95
Trio Pasta-L 18.00 (three different pasta's sampler)
2 coffee's 4.00
Large Sparkling water 5.15
Dessert Sampler 9.50

The tax of 4.14 & tip of 15% or 11.11 was included for a grand total of 89.29 (not including the mega amt. of milk!)

BUT, I must say I was generally disappointed with the food here, the desserts & soup were EXCELLENT, also the chicken nuggets, but the Stuzzicarolo turned out to be 12 slices of deli meat & maybe six slices of cheese, they were okay, but NO WAY would this ever feed 4 for an appetizer... I thought the pickin's were pretty slim on this appetizer... The Pasta sampler was okay, but their food just isn't THAT good for the money... Dsserts made up for all that though LOL... Unfortunately my husband liked this food, I'm sure he'll want to go back in the future... Great use of the voucher overall & everyone but me was happy!!! It's okay, it made eating cheap!!!

If anyone has questions just ask!

Thanks for the report! Sounds like you had some good food at good prices. Hope that the rest of your trip was GREAT! :)

Thanks Beth!! Everything went great throughout the whole trip, the flights were excellent, the Mears van was on time & our AP's were already paid for, how could we go wrong!

Hi Chris!

Glad you had fun while you were there!

Did you take your George Forman grill ??? LOL
I am already thinking of ways to pack my things especially my blender

Listen,
I read on the restaurant boards that someone was able to use their voucher at the Pepper Market? Did you go there?
I thought they said they would no longer accept them?

Sorry to get off track, but was the carpet in the rooms at the BC red?

Purrrrfecta,

We used our vouchers at the Pepper Market on August 17. With one, we got
a prime rib dinner (the special for the night) $17.95
a side of fries $2.50
a smoothie $3.95
and apple crisp with vanilla ice cream $3.95

With the other, we got:
a calzone $8.95 (according to Deb's site, but I am pretty sure it was $9.95)
side of fries $2.50
smoothie $3.95
and a brownie sundae $3.95

Total with tax + automatic 10% gratuity: $55.33
cost of vouchers: $22
savings: $33.33

We brought 1/2 of the calzone home, and had it for a midnight snack.

The seater, server, and cashier all said the vouchers were good to use there, so I'm not sure what happened with the person who said they could not be used.

Hi Purrrrfecta!!

We didn't bring the Foreman this time, we were only there for 3.5 days & we used our vouchers! If it wasn't for our staying at the BC & using those vouchers I'd have packed it!!! I think only one person reported not being able to use the vouchers at the Pepper Market, maybe it was a very short term problem... I recall it happening because they weren't getting paid in a timely manner, maybe that's been worked out!! We have used the vouchers before when we were either staying at Coronado or Pool-hopping (we're DVC'ers) there. It is a GREAT place to use your vouchers & the food IS good!!

We are planning on maybe going back to Hawaii in February, you KNOW I'll be packing the old Foreman grill, that worked out so GREAT!

We have always brought food and snacks. I know Disney charges for a refrigerator, but if you have "medicine" that needs to be refrigerated, there is no charge.

I found this out when my kids were with ear infections and their asthma acting up. I happened to mention it to the CM at the hotel check in and they told us for medicine you are not charged.

Hope this helps someone.

Not off the track what are these food vouchers everyone is talking about and how can we get them. Every penny saved is worth the effort.

We thought the Pepper Market was a good deal for the vouchers.. I am surprised that they let us get sides, even though sides came with our meals. I don't think the Pepper Market would be a good deal for some of the items, if I was paying out of pocket. I would not spend that much on a meal.

Pigsty333 check out the details for Connections at Mary Warings site www.mousesavers.com It's a program that lets you buy the Disney Vouchers that are good deals at SOME restaurants (not all), so you need to figure out what restaurants you want to use them at, you can find menu's at Deb Will's site www.wdwig.com
