Hey Everyone,
I know everyone has been ripping FP+ a new one but I have to say my husband and I used it a few days ago and loved it!
We have been down to WDW 3 times in the past 7 months and have used the MyDisneyExperince app each time and on our most recent visit were able to experience the FP+ feature.
The first two trips we used the app to look at attraction wait times not only when we were in the park but also before we would leave our room. We loved this feature - it was super easy to gage what park would be the best for us to visit prior to leaving the hotel room thus avoiding the dreaded Brazilian tour groups during our Jan. visit. We also used the app to make dinner reservation or even change the times/cancel had our plans changed. We were even able to use the app to tell if a ride had gone down while standing in line (yes this happened while in line for both Buzz Lightyear and Space Mountain) Needless to say we both found the app to be an asset during our trips.
This past week we were down in Cape Coral FL visiting friends and decided to make a quick trip up to the world before we headed back home. Being Annual Passholders we had been invited to the FP+ test at the beginning of Feb. so I was very excited to give the program a try.
We decided we wanted to see Flower and Garden in the morning/afternoon and then head over to Hollywood Studios that evening for some of our favorite rides. On Monday afternoon I logged onto the app and went to schedule our FP+s. We really wanted Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania. I was able to secure both of those for the next day in the late afternoon no problem and also got a FP to Star Tours.
We ended up leaving late and on the drive up my husband suggested we change to time of the Tower of Terror FP as we would be arriving to the parks later then expected. So I logged back onto the app and picked that FP and was able to reschedule it for later that night. I had no idea you could actually do that but I was able to and it worked like a champ! We were able to get into Epcot see Flower and Garden and then head over for Toy Story Mania and Tower of Terror that evening.
I would like to point something out here that I feel is very important: Had we not had this new FP+ system in place our day trip would not have been as enjoyable. There is no way we would have been able to get FPs for Toy Story Mania and mostly likely not Tower of Terror either being that we arrived at the parks around 1:30pm. It also would have been a pain in the neck to get them - we would have had to go over to Hollywood Studios run over to each attraction and grab our passes (hoping they were around the times we wanted) and then head back to Epcot. Instead we were able to go straight to Epcot, enjoy Flower and Garden and then over to Hollywood Studios to walk right onto the attractions we wanted (at the time we went on Toy Story Mania the wait was 60 mins and the wait for Tower of Terror was 40 mins) So to sum it up the FP+ program worked wonderfully for us, making our quick trip to the world a breeze. I look forward to using it again on my next trip down.
