Used books for sale on Amazon.com

This X-Mas my DS wanted a book that I couldn't get around here, so I bought a used one at Amazon for 1/3 of what I would have paid for it new. It was in great shape and was shipped very fast.
I recently sold 3 books that I had already read as well. I put them up for sale and within the day they all sold.
Just thought someone might not know about this service. I always buy new books from Amazon, but I think I just found a great way to save money buying used for all of us.

It reminded me of E-Bay but it's a lot easier.
If anyone has kids that read Goosebumps....I noticed they had some used Goosebump Books for 1 cent....lots of them. How can they sell them for 1 cent?

Before we went on our last Disney trip I bought a used Unoffical Guide from Amazon (actually it comes from another store who does business with Amazon). The book was in perfect shape, it didnt look used at all. I would buy used books again from there, seems like a really good deal.

I also sell some books on Amazon. It is a great way to raise some cash for more books. I did find, though, that the ones that sell the most quickly are very current titles in hardbound. Once they have been out for a couple months and/or are published in paperback the demand drops off.

I wondered how that service was. I usually don't look at it because I get the free shipping.

Quick question...do you just pay Amazon like usual and they disperse the money to the people that are selling the books, or do you have to do a lot of individual orders??

I've bought some out-of-stock titles from there and have been very satisfied.

Karen - I paid Amazon directly with my credit card along with some new books I bought in the same checkout.... The used book was included. It was simple...they took care of paying the seller, and the seller sent me my book very fast!

When I sold books I just put mine in for sale and Amazon took care of the rest, they got the payment from the seller and deposited the amount in my checking account. I sent out the books that same day using book rate at the post office.

I thought this was so much better than my E-bay experience, when I had to pay pay pal etc. I got a buyer who never paid me through E-Bay, but E-Bay took their commission on the sale but the buyer never paid me......it was all so confusing. It wasn't a large amount, but it was enough to turn me against the whole experience.
