Well, we're back & we had really good luck with the vouchers (we typically do though)

We ate at Beaches & Cream & did get a Kitchen Sink... I got the Turkey Sandwich, DH got a burger, we split with the two children & then we also got the kitchen sink (the kids love this)... The bill would have been over 50.00 & we used 2 vouchers...

We ate at Peco's Bill's, we didn't really lose money on this, but just broke even, I was fine with that...

We also ate at Rainforest Cafe at AK, we used a child's voucher & an adult voucher... the waitress let us order an ADULT dinner and an ADULT drink & appetizer!! This was the best deal... DH & I got a steak and shrimp platter @ 19.99, our kids got a full size cheese pizza & they also got a chicken fingers appetizer, I don't remember what we got for an appetizer. For a dessert, the waitress let us order the dessert that came in a Souvenier Glass (voucher only says you can't order a Souvenier glass drink)... The waitress suggested it & we took her up on it.... I don't remember what my DH got for dessert... All totalled our bill would have been 85.00 & we used 40.00 worth of vouchers....

We used the breakfast vouchers at Cinderella's royal table (a big savings)....

We came home with two lonely vouchers which found a good home today!!! :bounce:

I'm glad to hear that you had a good trip and the vouchers worked nicely for you. If you're interested in selling the remaining vouchers, I'd like to buy them. Please PM me. Thanks.

Nice to hear you had another wonderful trip. Glad to hear you were able to make use of the vouchers again. I plan to use them for our trip in January again. Although we will not be ordering the Kitchen Sink like we did last May. It was way too big. LOL

Do people usually stay on the Connections plan or do they just cancel before the 30 day trial period ends?
I know a lot of people take advantage of the 30 day trial and then cancel, which is what a trial is for. But at the same time I was raised that you shouldn't try something unless you intend to purchase and keep the item. If you discover that you don't think the product fits your needs after buying it you may return it. So under these rules, purchasing tickets and meal vouchers with full intention of utilizing these savings and cancelling before the 30 day trial is up doesn't seem quite right. On the other hand the trial period is a trial period. Connections knows that people will try it out and cancel. However, if they are losing money and keep on losing money because people use the discount and then quit the club, they might stop the trial period altogether. Or they can charge a lot more for the trial period.
I'm just stating my own beliefs and optinions and not judging others. I'm just curious as to what people do and if they feel like they are right in that action. It's just something to think about.

On a happy note-
I'm glad you had a great trip! The Kitchen Sink must have been quite yummy!

I think to each his own... I'm sure Connections isn't losing money on the vouchers, or they wouldn't be selling them.... We actually kept our membership, but when it comes to renewing at 140.00, no way, I'm not doing it unless they offer me some kind of really great incentive!!!

freecia,
When I joined connections, I viewed the 30 day trial period as a time to check them out and see if I liked their service and see if I received everthing just as they advertised and see if it is worthwhile--just as you said that is what a trial is for.

I kept my membership because they checked out in all categories. Between savings on food with the connections vouchers, movie tickets, gift certificates, 3 Disneyland tickets and 1 WDW 5 day hopper, we have saved over $500 so far (and we have only been members for about 6 months now)....

However, like chris1gill says, I will have to think twice about renewing at 140.00 as we may not be making as many trips to WDW next year after our 1 year membership expires and $140.00 is lot of $$ to make up in order to break even.

I intended to get vouchers but also to give the program fair consideration. If it was going to save us money, we'd keep it. The only thing we were interested in was 6 vouchers, because where we live many of their offerings are pretty useless. At the same time I enrolled in Galleria and almost kept it. I didn't use any of Galleria's offers, but I might in the future. Next year we might take another look at that one and join. I did feel a twinge of guilt cancelling, but I overcame that by remembering I did give it very fair consideration before finding it didn't offer our family a value. That's what the trial is for. I'm glad I cancelled and don't feel it was unethical. There are, I'm sure, plenty of people who join with no intent of keeping it who change their minds.

Wow-I can use my casual lunch/dinner vouchers at the Rainforest in Animal Kingdom? That would be great if its true. Please let me know. I don't think the rainforest was mentioned on the back of the voucher?

You can't use the Quick & Casual vouchers at Rainforest, but they have another voucher called the Kindgdom Lunch Voucher (I think) that can be used at the Rainforest. It is $29.50. We used it in Oct. and while we certainly ordered more food than $29.50, I didn't really think we got a great value, like say, at B&C.

I kept my membership for the year, but there's no way I would renew at that rate.

The vouchers are a great way to prepay meals. I'm not looking to come out ahead everytime I use the vouchers. I know some places I'll just break even or may even end up "wasting" a voucher. I just like the idea of having things paid for before I leave home.

I kept my Connections membership and intended to renew but $140? Where did that come from? Just got back from DW yesterday and used several vouchers. DH and I split meals and all of the restaurants were great about it. Le Cellier and Beaches and Cream were the best about taking care of it.

How much are the connections vouchers once you join? How do you know what type of vouchers to purchase? What type of voucher for which restaraunt? Is there a list of restaurants that accepts the vouchers? I have been to mousesavers.com, but for example I did not see Beaches and cream on the list.

Sory , but I am new to the voucher stuff. Dazed and confused.
