Hey guys! I am looking to purchase a DVC resale for boardwalk and would like to travel mostly September/October. The one I’m looking at has an august use year. Does that not make sense to buy? Having trouble figuring out possibilities with banking points. Thanks in advance for any input!

An august UY would be perfect for your sept/oct trips. It would be not as good if you planned to travel in the summer months because it would be past your banking window.

Okay that’s what I was hoping, thank you for your input! I was reading up on it more and I think I was equating use year to booking window which is what was confusing me.

For those with kids and tied to a school season / summer schedule, I would think like April or June UY makes the most sense, allowing for summer - Thanksgiving / Christmas / New Year's travels and a chance to bank points if needed if plans changed, since you need to make cancellation plans 31+ days in advance to avoid holding points.

But yes, as already said Aug. UY works perfect if you don't plan to travel during summer months much, but if you do have kids in school, you may want to leave this option open.
