We have friends that are interested in purchasing a DVC at the new animal kingdom. One of their questions to my wife and I were what use year should they pick. My understanding they are being provided numerous options. So even though I have been a proud member over 10 years, I am unable to provide them with a good answer.

Can anyone assist with pro's and con's on differant use years?

We chose a use year 6 months later then we like to travel. We have a Oct UY. Our preferred travel time for WDW is Oct - April. Our points must be banked by May 31 or we loose them. If something happens and we need to cancel a April trip, we still have until the end of May to bank the points.

it all depends on when they typically vacation at wdw. if they have no usual time to go to wdw, it doesn't matter at all. it probably shouldn't be a deal-breaker, regardless...
