I have a March UY. If I book a May 2023 vacation using 2023 points and cancel or modify the reservation for less points do those points go back to 2023 UY? TIA

May 2023 is within the March 2023 use year, so the answer is yes, unless you change the reservation 30 days or less before arrival, and they go into holding status.

March 2023 use year runs March 1, 2023 to February 29, 2024.

Remember, if you have to bank or borrow to make the reservation, banking and borrowing are final transactions, and those points remain in the use year they were banked or borrowed into.
