use year / multiple contract question

We wanted to bring the grandparents for a trip and they don't want to go when its hot, is January and February still warm enough to enjoy the pools?
It seems to depend on where you’re from! There’s another thread around here somewhere. It seems that people from colder climates are happy to swim when it’s way too cold for us who live in the south. BTW, the Disney resort pools are heated to 80°-85°F. So it’s often a case of the water being nice but getting out being not so nice.

Weather in January and February can vary from highs in the 80s to highs in the 40s, sometimes in the same week.

My wife's parents are joining us for part of our trip in early Feb 2025. Having some of those planning discussions as we speak. They are coming from NorCal and won't visit FL when it's hot/humid. Can't say I blame them.

I love visiting FL in Feb. We've experienced mid to lower 70s typically. A few cooler days (60s) in the mix. I'd say yes to certain days for the pool, but maybe not for all of them. We haven't dealt with any significant rain issues. We are currently in Ohio, so Feb is cold and a 100% chance of gloomy. Any place with sun is better than that. 8-)

Can i do a transfer before 7 months?

Do you go specific dates, or days, etc?

For instance i have it in my head the 2 perfect trips are:
8 nights Sat-Sun
Only 1 week off from work, maximizing that week by traveling at the very beginning & absolute end, getting the most of time off.
or
12 nights Sun-Fri
Only paying for 1 weekend (Fri/Sat), getting the most out of your points.

Then just wrap them around any specific dates/holidays, etc. :)
The latter for us. And you got it...maximize those weekday rates for the more expensive portion of your stay. Flights are typically cheaper on Sunday and that puts our return on a Friday, which is always cheaper than on a Saturday.

If time off is an issue, then the 8 night would be a good option as well. We only come down twice a year, so we choose to stay as long as we can based on work schedules, kids in school, etc.

I'm always up for more time in WDW though. I'd stay a month at a time if I could.:worship:

You can transfer from one use year to another thru a call to member services and if they are the same resort, they maintain priority. You can then log in online and book using those combined points in the one membership with 7-11 month priority and choose which contract to use first. The points don’t show on your account until you go to book a trip so you don’t want to forget you have points there. We did this within the last week.

Priority won’t matter I’m using every single point possible. :)
I may actually still be short a few points, but I will definitely put in a call for them to do the transfer so I can try.
